The God Of Magic

Curiosity of God

NOTE: Chapters are LONG, ~10X normal. Add ~600 chps to the actual count. When college physics student Mizuki Hakuto faces the obligatory bus-kun death of all isekai protagonists, he's brought face-to-face with a divine entity. When not mocking Mizuki, the so-called godling explains the nature of the universe – gods, godlings, mythical beasts, and more. Most importantly, magic is real. Just...not on Earth. Inspired by Earth's manga and having a penchant for drama, the godling offers him the opportunity to experience these things on a different world. The world is ruled by a strange god that treats it like a divine petri dish, and it's filled with interesting creatures the god collected from all across the universe. The god of this strange planet seems welcoming and helpful at first, but Mizuki quickly realizes that all is not as it seems in the magical world of Azura. Wielding science and newfound sorcery, Mizuki investigates the fundamental laws of magic, the nature of the divine, and more, but his progress is watched in secret by powerful forces. As he gains knowledge and power, and his darker nature is revealed, will the gods sit idly by? FAQ: Q – What's the overall tone of this story? A – It seems pretty lighthearted at first, but the trajectory of the story makes it progressively darker. I'd say the story takes itself fairly serious at times, but the characters' personalities lend to plenty of comedic dialogue. Especially in the lull between major events. Q – Isekai tropes? A – Yes. Some are leaned into, some are mocked, but most make an appearance in some form. Q – Is the MC's prior life relevant? A – Yes! The MC relies heavily on knowledge specific to Earth, and especially his science background. The MC trying to reconcile his scientific understanding from Earth with this newfound variable of magic is a major theme of the story. Q – How is the MC isekai'd? Is he reincarnated? A – In the most tropey way possible, of course. He gets hit by a bus. After dying, he's resurrected in his original body and sent to another world as an adult. Q – Is there slavery in this isekai? A – Yes, and it's not a pretty industry. However, the MC detests the slavery on Azura. The story won't shy away from the effect it has on the lives of those the MC meets. This will not be one of those stories where the MC virtue signals about how bad slavery is, but inexplicably keeps slaves of their own and it's painted as 'good' because the slaves are 'treated well'. Q – Is the MC overpowered? A – Absolutely, but this will vary as the story progresses and the MC's frame of reference and knowledge changes. It's meant as a kind of transient 'incubation' phase for the MC, where we see how having seemingly absolute power affects his personality and decisions. It helps reveal his true, unrestricted self. Q – Is this another self-insert isekai story? A – I certainly think that's true of the MC early on in the series – it takes a while to learn much about his personal life on Earth or personality. We're watching an MC who seems to be a reactionary person on Earth, just going through the motions, necessarily develop more of a sense of self in a world where his actions are more consequential. Q – You tagged this as 'romance'...is there a harem? A – Yup. The MC eventually has two romantic partners, though one is a bit more dominant. So, think more Tsukimichi, less late-game Arifureta.

The Mathematically Correct Usage of Magic

Valiance was once an orphan, adopted by a strange yet powerful old wizard named Kalli. Kalli often took him on his travels across the world, where they encountered and learned about the many mysteries and histories that shaped the world. However, one thing remained forever etched in Valiance's mind: the mathematically correct usage of magic. Old man Kalli always insisted that despite thousands of years of magical history and the relentless progression of magical studies, the way mages used magic was fundamentally flawed. He repeatedly pointed out the glaring errors in their methods. Under Kalli's guidance, Valiance learned the correct way to use magic. Yet, he remained deeply doubtful that it would actually work—and he had no way to test it, as he lacked a magical core and could not wield magic to begin with. Then came the fateful day when an old enemy of Kalli—someone Valiance had never met before—returned and killed them both using a forbidden magic so powerful that it overwhelmed even the old wizard. When Valiance awoke, he discovered that his body had been restructured by Kalli’s last remaining fragment of his soul—a clone. With this transformation, Valiance now possessed a magical core, albeit of the lowest level. Finally able to use magic, Valiance resolved to take revenge on the man who had killed the only person he considered his father, his mentor, and his friend. And the key to achieving this was… the mathematically correct usage of magic.

Draconis Genesis: The Dawn of Magic

Long before civilizations took root and mortals tread the planes of existence, there was a world where beasts reigned supreme—a realm in turmoil. At the apex of this wild hierarchy stood the dragons, beings of immense majesty, boundless intellect, and unmatched magical might. In the heart of this ancient age, a young dragon—barely a century old, an adolescent by his kind’s standards—embarks on a journey to find his place in a world where survival is the only law. Blessed with the rare ability to wield the Ancient Dragon Tongue—the first magic, and the foundation for all that would follow—this young dragon must navigate a turbulent society fraught with rivalries and alliances among his own kin. Beyond the dragons, greater threats loom: the Gods, beings of pure energy who embody the soul, and the Titans, colossal entities of mind and matter, vast as the planets themselves. As these three forces collide, the delicate balance of their existence is pushed to its breaking point, sparking conflicts that threaten to consume everything. Through centuries of trials, battles, and revelations, the young dragon rises from an unsure hatchling to a unifying figure among his kind. Yet, with influence comes peril. As his magic grows, so too does the attention of ancient forces that see him as either a threat to extinguish or a weapon to wield. The arrival of fragile, untested mortals on the scene forces a critical choice: to nurture humanity’s burgeoning potential for magic, guiding them as allies, or to protect the secrets of the Ancient Dragon Tongue, keeping its power sacred to dragons alone. Draconis Genesis: The Dawn of Magic is a sweeping saga spanning eons, an exploration of power, legacy, and the ties that bind. It weaves a tale of dragons, Gods, and Titans locked in an epic struggle that births the very essence of magic itself. In a world where beasts dominate the land, celestial entities rule the heavens, and Titans define reality, one dragon’s decisions will shape the destiny of creation.
