The Serpent Unbound
The world of Aquilora is ancient, its history simmering with countless secrets. Our story begins thousands of years after the great Corruption Wars—a conflict that nearly wiped out the planet—has finally subsided. All thanks to the seven great heroes, who secretly hail from another world, and rose to power now ruling the world as gods. Yet, despite their efforts, corruption and contamination still linger on the edges of civilization, often emerging without warning.
To combat the corruption, one must gain power, level up, and ascend through the higher realms. With multitudes of followers, a chosen few may be graced with a needle by the Emperor himself, allowing them to rule as sovereigns, spreading his will across the contaminated lands and corrupt life forms, bringing order to a world slowly healing. But falter, and one is left a mere follower, living in the shadow of others' power. This is a world for the strong. Many will rise, some will fall, and a few will seek to burn it all to the ground.
One of the gods is dead, and another is missing. Something sinister brews within this empire that thrives on desire. In the midst of this struggle, a child, with origins as strange as the gods themselves, is born to a family bound by an oath older than the empire itself—an oath so twisted by time that it has cast the family into an eerie solitude. This child may very well tip the balance of the world, or they too may fall victim to the desires of others.
