The Extra's Supremacy
Kain Nightshade, a young man from a world blissfully devoid of magic, finds himself inexplicably thrust into the dangerous and chaotic world of Altheria, the fantasy novel that consumed his childhood. But surprise — reality is a lot less glamorous than fiction. He’s not the destined hero or even the sidekick. No, Kain is a nameless "extra," a background character in a world teeming with overpowered mages, deadly assassins, and nobles with more schemes than common sense.
"This… this can't be right," Kain muttered, staring at the towering obsidian castle before him. 'The academy… I pictured a Hogwarts-like experience, not a military base!' He stood before the imposing structure, a mixture of awe and impending doom settling in. He’d imagined grand adventures — maybe with some quirky magical professors — not this bleak, stone fortress full of people just waiting to die heroically.
Armed with only the faintest recollection of the novel's plot, Kain has no idea what to expect. All he knows is that he’s not the protagonist. He’s not the villain. He’s not even the comic relief. He’s just there, and in a world that thrives on destiny, being “just there” is a guaranteed ticket to the bottom of the food chain.
'They think I’m insignificant,' he mused, a glint of amusement dancing in his eyes. 'They think I’m a background character. Well, let’s see what happens when the 'extra' starts rewriting the script.'
With bare minimum of knowledge about the world's plotline, Kain sets out to survive. It’s simple really: let the heroes and villains fight it out while he quietly takes the sidelines and maybe, just maybe, use his utter lack of importance to climb to the top. Because why not? Everyone’s so busy with their big, flashy destinies that they’ve completely overlooked the one thing they should fear: a “side character” who’s learned to play the game better than anyone else.
It’s a dangerous world, and Kain’s not here for a tragic death or a heroic arc. He’s here for one thing: survival. No need to become a legend, no need for power — just an extra with the supremacy to carve out his own path, rewrite his own fate, and maybe, just maybe, come out on top when the dust settles.
