In a world where the majority of humans possess supernatural abilities known as "Kikai," the prestigious "Erabareshimono no Kyousou," a team fighting tournament that offers the fulfillment of any wish to its victors, Harumaki Yuuki, a cold, pragmatic, and enigmatic high schooler who states to be "the strongest," resolves to participate in the tournament alone. His pursuit of victory driven by a profound ambition he considers more important than his own life. Harumaki Yuuki crosses paths with Hinata Ryûko, a spirited and determined girl who recognizes his strength as a crucial asset to her team. Through a series of duels, rivalries, and alliances, Yuuki will encounter numerous adversaries and allies, each pursuing their own ambitions within or beyond the tournament. Kikai Unmei oscillates between spectacular confrontations, comedic everyday life scenes, and emerging romances, culminating in a tale where strength lies not only in power, but also in the bonds that weave between hearts.
