A Song of Flesh and Blood
Oswin Durnvale, a weary fast-food worker from modern-day Earth, never expected his life to end so abruptly—nor to begin anew in the body of Fray Nightshade, a somewhat wealthy but reclusive young man in a world reminiscent of early modern Europe. Struggling to adjust, Oswin finds himself in a world on the brink of crisis.
As Oswin navigates this unfamiliar world, he stumbles upon a forgotten part of Fray’s inheritance—an old violin and a book of hymns dedicated to the Water Spirits. Driven by nostalgia for his past as a musician, he plays the melodies, unknowingly invoking a force beyond human understanding. To his shock, the spirits answer.
Magic is real in this world, but it comes at a cost. Power is not given freely, and the more Oswin demands, the greater the strain on his body and mind. With each song, he inches closer to the unknown, toeing the line between a gift and a curse.
