Between Coincidence And Inevitability

Inevitable Equilibrium - Part 1: Primal Instincts

A typical isekai plot turns not so typical as the reality of the situation slowly sets in for the protagonist. War, slaves, women, marriage, children, vile villains, unexpected allies, and more. His actions may not only cost the populace their lives, but will also affect their livelihoods and beliefs. It's not all easy going, and not all enemies are on the opposite side. This is just some of what awaits the protagonist in part 1 of this of this multipart-multiversal storyline. Little did he know that his quest to defeat the Demon King and save this one single abnormal world was far more important than he ever thought it could be. It would eventually lead the protagonist to the origin of everything and anything that makes up reality. Everything must be balanced, including his abnormal existence. Equilibrium is...inevitable. -comments- I had a few goals for writing this story. Create a multiverse that almost any anime/manga/light novel could exist within and co-exist with others simultaneously. To also make the strongest character ever, giving a proper fundamental reason why they are, not just saying they're overpowered. This is the focus of the later parts, so I get all the "romance" and world building out of the way in the first 2 parts (loose plan). The rest of the parts focusing on the multiverse and crucial battles. If you think the protagonist is overpowered at the start...you have no idea. -the picture is AI generated and not an accurate reflection of the character. -I am a fulltime worker who writes irregularly and slowly (physical typing speed). I can also mull over one sentence for 30min. -parts 1 and 2 are a long and slow, things rapidly picking up after that. -nudity is depicted, but it is not of the 'ecchi' genre. Intercourse happens but is not detailed. -this is a war stricken world, so unsavory things happen. Please keep that in mind for things unsaid but implied. I try to keep things as lighthearted as possible while trying to keep it as realistic as possible. -I wrote this as if watching it in my head, which influenced the writing style. Also, when reading novels, if there are multiple characters, I sometimes find it hard to distinguish who's talking as I can see multiple characters wanting to say what was written. I decided to always make it clear who's talking, so it turned into a book/anime hybrid. -any feedback, including typos, are much appreciated. Upload Schedule: 1st of every month (wish I had time to do it more frequently, but alas, responsibilities. I am not writing to become an author, but only for myself and my own mental health. If the opportunity presented itself, sure, why not? However, I don't have the luxury to pursue that career. I have immense respect for those who can pursue it by overcoming the obstacles. I am a coward who can't justify the risks for pursuing something I don't have a diehard passion for. I only thought of stories for myself for many years, but I found myself forgetting parts of my stories. That's why I decided to write them down and record them online, leaving a piece of me out there for hopefully eternity. My goal is not short-term, but very long-term. I wish for someone, someday long after I'm gone, to read my work and think to themself "this guy has some good ideas". Just the thought of that makes me content. I hope you understand that I would only pursue a career in this if my work profoundly resonated with people so much that it basically forced me to be an author. I'm sincerely apologise to anyone reading it in its earl days and wishes for more confident).

The Light Between Shadows

The air was thick with smoke and the scent of blood, heavy enough to choke her as she clung to the shadows. She’d grown up within these walls, the stone corridors of her family’s stronghold, where she’d always been the quiet one, the unassuming Luminary, watching her kin wield their power over the wolves below with an iron fist. Tonight, the fortress shook under the force of rebellion. A war-cry echoed nearby, and she shivered, feeling the ground tremble as wolves overthrew the guards in waves, the very magic that had once bound them broken. The legends always said that the Luminaries were untouchable, but here they were—falling, one by one, as the stronghold became a grave. She ducked into an alcove, her back pressed against the cold stone, heart racing as her mind fought to make sense of the chaos. The Luminaries’ rule was absolute; they controlled everything and everyone with invisible threads of power. They were feared, revered—and yet, she knew what had been done in her family’s name. The iron discipline, the cold cruelty that had been deemed necessary, even just. But now, face to face with what that cruelty had cost, she felt a hollowness settle in her chest. A shadow appeared at the end of the hall. She stiffened, recognizing him immediately. He was the one from the old stories, the one who had somehow resisted the Luminaries’ control, a man of a bloodline immune to her family’s magic. His eyes, dark as midnight, swept the corridor before falling on her. In that moment, every instinct told her to run, but her body wouldn’t move, caught between dread and a strange sense of fate. He stopped before her, and his gaze bored into her, assessing, calculating. “So,” he said finally, voice cold. “This is where they hid the last of you.” She swallowed, lifting her chin. “I… I didn’t ask for any of this.” “Didn’t you?” His words were sharp, cutting through the chaos. “How convenient. That’s what they all say when they’re caught.” The accusation stung, but she kept her gaze steady. “Not everyone deserves to die.” His lips curled in a bitter smile. “Spoken like a true Luminary. Even now, you cling to the lies they fed you.” The weight of his anger was palpable, filling the air around them. She could feel his fury like a storm, a hatred so raw it burned her. And yet, as he glared at her, she saw a flicker of hesitation, a crack in the armor he wore so tightly. She didn’t know that, in her softness, she held a power she didn’t understand—a quiet magic, subtle but unyielding, that drew him in against his will. He closed the distance between them, his hand gripping her arm firmly. “The others will die,” he murmured, his tone edged with finality. “But you, you’re coming with me. You’re too dangerous to be left alive, but maybe you’re just valuable enough to be kept breathing.” Her heart hammered, the weight of his words settling over her as he pulled her forward, binding her fate to his, a captive of the very rebellion that had destroyed her family.
