Bad Curiosity

Curse of the Bad Blood Dye

Arentia—an ancient continent that flourished in glory for countless ages, where power and prosperity were the pillars of its rule. It was upheld by noble families that played a crucial role in its stability. Among them, House Vermouth stood out, bearing the emblem of a colossal dead oak tree—a symbol of resilience and determination. During the Great Coup in the capital, the Vermouths did not hesitate to defend their legacy with all their might. As for Ethan, the youngest scion of House Vermouth, he enrolled in the prestigious Azoria Academy, where both nobles and commoners studied the arts of magic and swordsmanship. However, he soon faced a grave challenge—he was unlike the other students. He suffered from the Bad Blood Dye curse, an ancient affliction that caused deformities when using mana and magic, making him a constant target for bullying from his peers, who looked down on him with disdain. Yet, Ethan, heir to wood and fire, would not accept defeat. His spirit was unbreakable, and his will was forged from steel. He would not surrender until he proved his resilience to the entire world. Upcoming Arcs: "The Crimson Moon Ritual of the Bad Blood Dye Boys" "Return Home: Ethan Faces the Great Catastrophe in Azoria" "The Unexpected Betrayal: Was Henry Vermouth Merely a Puppet in a Mind Game?" "Declaration of War: House Vermouth vs. House Dragaswyn, and Their Alliance with House Gastrain in a Greedy Pact" This is only the beginning—more epic events are on the way, with continuous updates revealing the fate of the continent and its heroes.

Curiosity of God

NOTE: Vol.2-6 chapters are LONG (revisions pending). Total normal chapter count would be ~500 (as of Feb. 2025). When college physics student Mizuki Hakuto faces the obligatory bus-kun death of all isekai protagonists, he's brought face-to-face with a divine entity. When not mocking Mizuki, the so-called godling explains the nature of the universe – gods, godlings, mythical beasts, and more. Most importantly, magic is real. Just...not on Earth. Inspired by Earth's manga and having a penchant for drama, the godling offers him the opportunity to experience these things on a different world. The world is ruled by a strange god that treats it like a divine petri dish, and it's filled with interesting creatures the god collected from all across the universe. The god of this strange planet seems welcoming and helpful at first, but Mizuki quickly realizes that all is not as it seems in the magical world of Azura. Wielding science and newfound sorcery, Mizuki investigates the fundamental laws of magic, the nature of the divine, and more, but his progress is watched in secret by powerful forces. As he gains knowledge and power, and his darker nature is revealed, will the gods sit idly by? FAQ: Q – What's the overall tone of this story? A – It seems pretty lighthearted at first, but the trajectory of the story makes it progressively darker. I'd say the story takes itself fairly serious at times, but the characters' personalities lend to plenty of comedic dialogue. Especially in the lull between major events. Q – Isekai tropes? A – Yes. Some are leaned into, some are mocked, but most make an appearance in some form. Q – Is the MC's prior life relevant? A – Yes! The MC relies heavily on knowledge specific to Earth, and especially his science background. The MC trying to reconcile his scientific understanding from Earth with this newfound variable of magic is a major theme of the story. Q – How is the MC isekai'd? Is he reincarnated? A – In the most tropey way possible, of course. He gets hit by a bus. After dying, he's resurrected in his original body and sent to another world as an adult. Q – Is there slavery in this isekai? A – Yes, and it's not a pretty industry. However, the MC detests the slavery on Azura. The story won't shy away from the effect it has on the lives of those the MC meets. This will not be one of those stories where the MC virtue signals about how bad slavery is, but inexplicably keeps slaves of their own and it's painted as 'good' because the slaves are 'treated well'. Q – Is the MC overpowered? A – Absolutely, but this will change much later, as the story progresses. Q – Is this another self-insert isekai story? A – I certainly think it's true that the MC lacks personality early on in the series – it takes a while to learn much about his personal life on Earth or personality. We're watching an MC who seems to be a reactionary person on Earth, just going through the motions, necessarily develop more of a sense of self in a world where his actions are more consequential. Q – You tagged this as 'romance'...is there a harem? A – Yup. It takes a long time for the second romance to happen, and the harem always remains very small, but eventually it happens.

Bad for You

Innocence was never meant for the addictive…  Addiction was something Krit Corbin accepted as part of his nature a long time ago. He decided to embrace it and flip his finger at the rules. Women had always been the number one thing on his list of addictions. He couldn’t get enough. Being the lead singer in a rock band had only made access to his favorite addiction that much easier. Being alone was the only thing Blythe Denton understood. The small town minister’s family that raised her hadn’t accepted her as their own. The minister’s wife had always made sure Blythe understood just how unworthy she was of love. When Blythe is sent away to college and given a chance to finally be free of living as an unwanted burden, she looks forward to having peace in her life. Being alone isn’t something that bothers her. She escapes reality in the stories she writes. However, the ridiculously sexy tattooed guy who keeps throwing parties in the apartment above hers is driving her crazy. For starters, he doesn’t treat her like she would expect a guy with a different woman always hanging on his arm to treat someone as uninteresting as her. She looks nothing like the gorgeous women she sees parading in and out of his apartment, but for some strange reason he keeps showing up at her door. During a party at his apartment, Krit’s new neighbor comes to the door with her long brown hair pulled up in a messy knot and a pair of glasses perched on her cute little nose. She wants him to turn down the music, but he convinces her to stay. Krit Corbin may have just found his biggest addiction yet. And Blythe Denton realizes too late that she’s finally been claimed. by Abbi Glines
