I always wanted to give the reader more backstory of Lavinia and Leonora's past, but I didn't want to end up with too many flashbacks in the main story of 'The Sea Witch'. This isn't a day-to-day story, I intend to pick out the most important events, that take place over the five years they spend at the Empire Mage Academy. As a result, chapters will often start with a narration, which will cover any time skips, and set up the chapter.
