Famous Last Words C W Farnsworth

Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s

Back in 1996, when the daughter of the Old Xie family, Xie Wanying, said she wanted to be a doctor, many laughed. "Phoenix begets phoenix, dog spawns dog. A truck driver’s daughter becoming a doctor is as likely as a sow climbing a tree." "I’m not just going to be a doctor, I’m going to be a female chest surgeon," said Xie Wanying. Her words provoked even greater waves of disdain within the doctors' community. Relatives who were doctors ridiculed her mercilessly: "Do you know how high the admission scores are for medical students? Do you think you can make it?" "There are zero female chief chest surgeons in the country. Who do you think you are!" A bunch of people mocked her: "You'll probably only get into a third-rate medical college and end up as a health worker in a small county town. It's easy to imagine what sort of marriage you'll have." After the college entrance exams, Xie Wanying entered the top surgical class in the country with the highest science scores in the province, with department heads in the Capital’s top-tier hospitals vying for her from her internship beginnings. "Student Xie Wanying, come to our digestive surgery department." "No, she must come to our urological surgery—" "Pediatric surgery is in short supply of female doctors like student Xie Wanying." Circles of relatives and friends: … At this time, Xie Wanying independently completed the youngest Tetralogy of Fallot surgery in the country, represented the national association of chest surgery at an international medical forum, and published the world’s first minimally invasive heart valve repair surgery, becoming truly the foremost surgeon in the field of female surgery! As for the marriage concerns that everyone "worried" about: A brother from the Returned Overseas Faction, a hot bachelor within the Capital, changed his QQ profile picture to Junior Sister Xie. The young CEO, a handsome man, came to the hospital every day with flowers, keen to offer a diamond ring. Not to mention, a whole host of suitors had long since worn a path to the Old Xie Family's doorstep...

Plan C

"Cheers!" Four glass cups clinked gently together. Inside the rather cramped room, three men and a woman sat cross - legged around a low table. The four, holding their cups, had fiery eyes. Peanut shells and bread crumbs were scattered on the table. "You're something, really something. What on earth have you done? You actually made that big - shot so surprised that his jaw nearly dropped." The woman leaned closer, her eyes full of allure. "Hmm, should I tell?" The man lifted his cup to his lips, deliberately playing hard - to - get. "If you don't tell, you're not a brother then." Another man raised his eyebrows. "It's not that I don't want to tell, but if I do, I'm in big trouble." The man continued to create mystery, focusing on sipping his wine. "Why?" The man sitting next to him asked in confusion. "Because..." The man leaned in ambiguously. "He promised me that if I gave him the name of the inventor, he would give me all his property. But, I have to keep it a secret." "Hey, you're not going to sell out for just a bit of money..." Another man said. "Get out while you can. That's my principle." The man said in a low voice, and on purpose, he blew hot air onto the neck of the man beside him, making him laugh softly. "Besides, with this money, Xiaomo and I can live comfortably for a lifetime, right?" The man playfully picked up the pull - ring of the beer can. "Marry me? I'll give you a mansion, plus a yacht, and two unlimited - credit platinum cards. Take you to Europe in summer and to Tahiti in winter. We don't have to work 365 days a year. Just lie..." "Pah, pah, pah. What nonsense you're talking." The man quickly covered the other's mouth. "Someone's listening." "Oh, we were just about to go for a walk. Make yourself at home, feel free." The woman waved her hand and stood up unsteadily. "Take care. I'll pay off the rent I owe you in one lump sum tomorrow." The man didn't turn his head. Instead, with a ferocious expression, he pressed himself on another man, making him struggle and laugh loudly. "You're so heavy. Get off me quickly!" "Oh? I have to calculate this carefully. For two people? Charge you 10,000 per person per month. By now, you exactly owe 2.4 million. In these unstable times, only cash or checks are accepted." The woman hiccuped. "Don't worry. No problem." The man turned his head and laughed at them. "I won't renege. Are you still afraid that..." However, halfway through his words, as a shadow fell, the man's face suddenly turned deathly pale. Not only him, the other three people looked in the direction he was staring at. Several men had entered the door and were standing in the entrance hall. "Which one is Tony Zhang? We need you to come with us." In the hands of the five men were shiny black firearms.

Spoken yet Unspoken words ✨

"Spoken Yet Unspoken Words" captures the heart of what so often goes unsaid. The feelings, the longings, and the moments left unspoken between those who matter most. It's about the silence that speaks louder than any words ever could, the kind that settles in the spaces between two people who share something deep, but aren't always able to express it. In this story, you'll meet characters who hold onto emotions they can't quite voice. Their hearts are full, but their mouths stay shut, trapped by the weight of their own fears, insecurities, and the vulnerability of being in situations they cannot really help. It's the quiet pain of wanting to say something, but never finding the right moment or the right words, to make it real. The love, the regret, the unspoken apologies, they all live in these unsaid words, and they hurt in ways that are impossible to explain. There is a tension in the silence, a pull between what they feel and what they can say. But sometimes, the most intense emotions are those we can't express aloud. There's a tenderness in those moments of stillness, when two people understand each other without needing to speak. It's as if the space between them is full of everything they wish they could say, but don't. This story explores the complexity of human connection, the way we communicate through gestures, glances, and the quiet moments where we say so much without opening our mouths. It's about love that is held back by fear, friendships strained by things left unsaid, and the raw, vulnerable part of being human. Because sometimes, the hardest thing is to admit what we truly feel, even when the whole world seems to be asking for it. If you've ever held your tongue when you wanted to speak, if you've ever let words slip through your fingers without saying them to the person who needed to hear them, this story is for you. It's about the emotions that are too big for words, the love that stays even when it isn't spoken aloud.

TheLastKingdom: Transmigrated w/ Proficiency System

USA, Louisiana.. a small town in north-east Louisiana.. if you see a little-bitty tiny dot with the name 'Oak Grove' beside it.. in the most north-east corner of Louisiana.. fifteen minute drive north.. and you' ve crossed into the state of Arkansas.. Or if you would have drove fifteen minutes east instead of north.. you would have crossed over the Mississippi-Louisiana state line.. so that gives you a pretty good general location of the town of my birth.. Unfortunately it wouldn't be the town of my untimely and unexpected death.. nope.. for I would not die in a town.. no.. I would be eventually crushed.. by a section.. of thirty-two inch.. steel.. heavy-wall.. industrial pipe.. for a natural gas line.. being lay'n.. from just north of the cities.. Odessa and Midland.. of the state of Texas.. Over a thousand miles away from my place of birth.. Bastrop.. Louisiana.. where the closest 'safe' hospital was for me to be born at.. forty miles west.. by north-west from where my family had lived for generations.. Oak Grove.. My family has worked as surveyors.. for pipelines and gas or oil facilities.. being built all across this great country on the continent of North America.. for atleast two generations.. If my children take up the mantle.. that would make.. three generations of my family.. to feed and provide for their families.. working as pipeline surveyors.. see Oak Grove is poor.. poor as dirt.. total population.. barely over two thousand.. average gross income per capita per family for a year.. less than ten thousand dollars a year.. there's just no real paying jobs.. in Oak Grove or anywhere near it.. so while the people who choose to work in Oak Grove make ten thousand dollars a year.. I started out as a 'rod-man' which was the lowest man on the 'totem-pole'.. making what those in Oak grove..worked a year for.. I made in a month.. I did nothing but pack bundles of wooden stakes.. then carry them up the mountains of West Virginia.. Or across the deserts of West Texas.. swamps of south Louisiana.. down around Baton Rouge.. or Tibbedaux.. the Everglades of Florida.. fuck I get that nauseous feeling every time I think of when I 'work'd' there.. I walked up on a dead body without a head.. not long after that.. still on the same project I saw the 'headless' corpse on.. I almost stepped on the biggest python I've ever seen.. the fucker was atleast ten feet long and two to three feet wide around.. Anywho, back to what I was talking back before I went off subject for a bit.. I started out making ten thousand dollars every month.. thats twelve times what I would have earned working a month in Oak Grove.. instead of working in these dangerous jobs.. Been a lot of dangerous places.. dangerous terrains.. working in a very hazardous career.. but I was well paid like I said.. and now I don't have a body left to send home to my parents.. that section of pipe.. weigh tens of thousands of pounds.. when the 'Komoda' excavators that were lifting the section tipped.. that was it.. one of the operators didn't extend his 'boom' on his excavator all the way out like he should have.. Now the pipes falling.. as soon as it lands on me.. thats it.. so much weight.. my head will pop and shoot right of my shoulders.. up in the air towards the heavens themselves.. reaches its peak height of its short flight.. then falling.. all whilst my body will be crushed and explode to nothing but splatter'd meat paste.. ending my first life.. trust I've seen it.. I know what will happen from experience.. and so beings the next chapter of life.. I see a tunnel with bright light radiating from then end of it.. as I reach the light I take the final step.. the blinding light recedes and fades away out of existence.. I find my surroundings returning to a lightness that my eyes can afford to see clearly in.. only to meet another pair of eyes facing me.. everything else is shrouded by darkness.. I see only eyes.. staring at me.. staring into me.. starin
