After Life X Death
When things have no value, they are discarded. Regardless of whether it is a human life, a universal truth cannot be denied.
No different to piles of waste, Hikashi Gozard comes to the same conclusion, it was time to discard his now meaningless life. In spite of how much meaning, prestige, and kindness he may have had prior.
It was all pointless.
Valeria, a young girl around the same age, despite her cruel, war-ridden living standards, any thought of a future seems like an idiotic fantasy; she releases such infectious, bountiful, hopeful and joyous light wherever she exists. The girl, as Hikashi, intentionally brings her life to an end.
Both are sent into the afterlife, their eternities pre-determined by the amount of value they gathered in their lifetime, measured in a currency named soulis. Neither of the two, choosing to accept their inevitable eternities, end up in an illegal death game within the afterlife to obtain more soulis to buy their way out of their inevitable fast-approaching eternities. Hikashi due to unyielding defiance, and Valeria's desperate determination.
Dealing with the rules and corruption of Purgatown alongside the series of unforgiving psychological death game challenging both mental and physical fortitude, the consequences are far greater than measly death. The two unlikely allies, having completely opposing ideals, will they gain enough soulis to escape their fate or face no fate at all.
