My hometown, the Curse Land
Recently, there have been many posts from fellow members about ghost stories. However, most of them are either secondhand accounts or vague, hazy encounters. I’ve thought long and hard about this, and finally decided to write down the stories I’ve personally experienced.
I must emphasize that everything I’m about to share is true — real people, real events. The characters are my close relatives, still alive to this day, and everything happened in one place — my maternal hometown, Ngoc Thuy Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi.
The series of stories I’m about to tell includes events I’ve known since childhood, some I’ve witnessed firsthand, and others that occurred when my mother was still a child. Together, they weave a string of strange occurrences that cast a shadow of gloom over my family’s childhood — a darkness that seems to cling to that land.
