Wyldes: In The Home Of The Non-Humans
Growing up a hunter with a human father, Vannea's world turns upsidedown when she sees the nearby village in flames, people scattering and fleeing to avoid the fires, all the while trying to salvage their precious items and trinkets. The humans, aside from her father, are disgusted at the sight of her, temporarily forgetting about the fire and their items. She looks for her father, Orion, in all the chaos, seeing him helping an elderly couple get away safely. Before she could even blink, the elderly couple collapsed, taking Orion with them, and then Orion is motionless. Shot by an arrow through the heart, Orion is now dead with Vannea left on her own and to her own devices while in her world of grief.
That is until a man, as big as a bear on it's hindlegs, with muscles that show through his baggy shirt, and dark as midnight hair and stunning blue-black eyes, shows up when she is mechanically going through her day-to-day chores of chopping, tying, killing, gutting, skinning, cooking, sell. He presents her with an opportunity to forget about the prejudice ways of humans, and to live in his world, to get stronger and to be happier. Will she accept? Will she find happiness? Will she be welcomed into an unknown territory with open arms? Or will she find out how dark and scary this new world is? Or how terrifyingly frightening the humans actually are?
Will she be able to get back on her feet? Will she turn her world around? Will she find answers to her dying questions? Will she know that there's more secrets about herself she needs to uncover?
