Forbidden hero
a story that I started on the royal road that I am unsure if I should continue
==============================
In a kingdom where the dead walk and the darkness whisper of doom, salvation rests in the hands of the broken, the discarded, and the damned.
Once a name that inspired fear, Kaius was a warlord whose conquests left rivers of blood in their wake. Now, burdened by the weight of his sins, he lives in exile, haunted by the faces of the slain. But when a rising tide of undead threatens to devour the shattered remnants of Xanvern, Kaius is forced to confront his past and the ghosts it left behind.
At the heart of this terror is a cabal of necromancers, wielding magic so vile it twists life itself into abominations. Their ranks swell with the enslaved dead, and whispers of betrayal echo through Xanvern as dark cults rise to worship them.
To banish this suffocating darkness, Kaius must embrace the agony of his past, transforming himself into a weapon of fear and destruction. In a world where mercy is a death sentence and compassion is devoured by the shadows, survival demands he abandon his humanity.
To save Xanvern, Kaius must walk the line between human and inhuman. But in the end, will he save the kingdom—or damn it to eternal darkness?
To fight monsters, must one also become a monster?.
(I'm a new author so I have no idea what I'm doing. Please don't expect much from me.)
