Card Apprentice Daily Log

Dalton Wyatt, a world-renowned scientist and inventor, is transmigrated into the body of a high school student, also named Dalton Wyatt, who had tragically committed suicide due to unfortunate circumstances and a complicated life. The enchanting world of cards he finds himself in is vastly different from Earth, yet eerily similar in certain aspects. Unlike the peaceful Earth, where humans fought only amongst themselves, this new world is plagued by dungeons and monsters. Here, humanity's survival hinges on battling these mythical and legendary creatures. Ordinary mortals lack the strength to stand against such formidable foes. Thankfully, a select few are blessed with the ability to harness their souls, manifest soul power, and become card apprentices—humanity’s last hope against extinction. Card apprentices are individuals who form contracts with grimoires, mystical artifacts that allow them to wield powerful and versatile cards to fend off monsters and conquer dungeons. A grimoire provides card apprentices with abilities such as card creation and card fusion. Most importantly, it enables them to unlock their full potential in card battles. While this world shares the concept of science with Earth, its focus is not on electronics or industrialization. Instead, cards replace the need for most technologies, fulfilling even the smallest of daily necessities. This world revolves entirely around the grimoire’s abilities, particularly card creation and card fusion. Transmigrated to a place where strength can be bought with money, Dr. Wyatt is forced to earn a living to ensure his survival. Fortunately, with his otherworldly knowledge and expertise, card creation comes naturally to him, setting him apart from other card apprentices. Dr. Wyatt crafts and sells perfect, powerful, and resourceful cards, steadily growing stronger in this monster-ridden world. --- "What did you say? Making good cards is hard? Bah! Card creation is a breeze." "My friend, let me enlighten you—there are no 'trash card ingredients,' only incompetent card creationists." [Commencing card creation using ingredients, i)Bloody Veins - G Rank, Mortal Grade ii)Nyon Rope - G Rank, Mortal Grade iii)Common Core - G Rank, Mortal Grade Card creation… complete! Card Name: Bloody Rope Card Type: Item Card Card Rank: E Rank, Common Grade Card Rating: 3 Stars Card Durability: 100/100 Card Effect: The Bloody Rope can bind and incapacitate its target. You used G-rank mortal-grade ingredients and yet crafted an E-rank common-grade card with full durability and a three-star rating? This isn’t real—I must still be dreaming! I couldn’t possibly have woken up today—this has to be a dream!"

I Was Hit by a Truck, So I Resurrected as a Truck in Another World

In a world where video games served as a refuge from reality, a young man named Shiro found himself stuck in the monotonous grind of joblessness and academic stagnation after dropping out of college. His days were consumed by endless hours of virtual escapism, seeking solace in digital realms where he could be someone else, someone with purpose and excitement. One fateful night, Shiro decided to take a break from his virtual routine and venture outside, drawn by the serene allure of the moonlit sky. The streets were eerily deserted, devoid of any signs of life, as if the world itself had decided to retreat to slumber. As he strolled, lost in his thoughts, an unexpected and terrifying event unfolded before him. Out of nowhere, a pair of truck headlights, glowing like two malevolent eyes, emerged from the shadows, racing towards him with malicious intent. Panic gripped Shiro's heart, rendering him motionless, as he was unable to escape the impending collision. The screech of tires and the deafening crunch of metal engulfed the silent night, signifying the abrupt end to Shiro's unremarkable life. In that moment of despair, as he faced the cold embrace of death, Shiro's consciousness began to waver, teetering on the brink of oblivion. However, just when he accepted his inevitable fate, a strange and mysterious voice echoed in the depths of his mind, resonating with an otherworldly cadence. -- System is now online. -- The words reverberated through Shiro's soul, awakening a newfound awareness within him. As he reluctantly opened his eyes, a breathtaking sight greeted him. Gone were the familiar surroundings of his mundane world; instead, he found himself transformed into a truck, lying in a vast, verdant grass field, bathed in the gentle glow of a foreign moon. Startled and bewildered by his unexpected resurrection as a mechanical behemoth, Shiro struggled to come to terms with his new existence. The voice in his mind, now identified as the "System," offered cryptic explanations about his reincarnation and the role he was destined to play in this uncharted realm. With the System granting him abilities and a mission to fulfill, Shiro embraced his peculiar form and set forth on a journey of self-discovery and adventure. As he navigated through this enchanting but treacherous world, he encountered a diverse array of beings – mystical creatures, enigmatic spirits, and formidable adversaries. Each encounter offered valuable lessons, forging him into a wiser and more resilient individual. Guided by the enigmatic System and fueled by his insatiable curiosity, Shiro unraveled the secrets of the world's ancient past and its precarious future. Along the way, he formed deep connections with fellow adventurers, all hailing from different corners of the realm, each carrying their own burdens and dreams. However, his path was fraught with challenges and heart-wrenching choices, testing his morality and resolve. The allure of power beckoned, but Shiro remained steadfast in his quest for purpose beyond mere strength. As he made difficult decisions, he realized the true essence of heroism: not the wielding of power, but the strength to protect those he cared for, even at the cost of personal sacrifice. Through trials and tribulations, Shiro discovered that his reincarnation as a truck was no mere accident. It was a catalyst for change, a chance to rewrite the narrative of his life and create a legacy that would ripple through the ages. In a stunning climax, where courage clashed with adversity and hope wrestled against despair, Shiro stood firm, determined to leave an indelible mark on this extraordinary tapestry of existence. His journey had come full circle, from being a jobless, unremarkable college dropout to a legendary figure whose name would be whispered in awe and reverence for generations to come.

Fractured Horizon: Shadows of the Apocalypse

Nova City, Earth - 2,150 A.D Ryne, an athletic teenager with a penchant for parkour, is trying his best to survive in a world that does nothing but punish him. Haunted by the sudden death of his mother six years prior, Ryne’s father forced him and his sister to move to the neglected and financially disadvantaged district known only as ‘Fracture’. Within this unforgiving environment, Ryne endures physical abuse from his father and psychological torment from his peers. All the while fiercely protecting his vulnerable younger sister. Just as hope fades, Ryne’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Brad and his group, kindred spirits who share his passion for parkour. As their friendship deepens, Ryne finds a sense of family among his fellow inhabitants of Fracture. However, a mysterious voice whispered in Ryne’s ears. [The apocalypse is imminent, one month remains.] With time running out, he must hold on to hope in the face of despair. As the countdown to annihilation unfolds, the mysterious voice sets various tasks for Ryne. When the time ticks down to zero, people across the globe manifest bizarre and extraordinary abilities while the rest of humanity transforms into grotesque and monstrous creatures. Ryne must confront his inner demons and make a choice—cling to the flickering ember of hope or succumb to the overwhelming despair surrounding him—all the while navigating a landscape plagued by mutant beings. ----------------------------------------------------- Author's Note: As you may know, I'm also the author of My Undeath, a reincarnation novel set in a fantasy world. It wasn't my best work, but I loved writing the story. I put a lot more time and effort into Fractured Horizon, and ironed out the details over the course of a year before writing and publishing it here. If you liked My Undeath, this novel has almost ten times more planning put into it before release. ----------------------------------------------------- Schedule: 7-15 chapters per week Chapter Length 1,000-2,000 words Disclaimers: 1. The 'Earth' in this world is not as we know it to be. Applying common sense is pointless. 2. There are not any planned harems. 3. Increasing powers/strength in this novel will feel similar to cultivation, but this is not a cultivation novel. 4. These creatures aren't zombies as you know them and will not be called such by the characters, but that's all I will say here. -------------------------------------------- Themes: fantasy, science fiction, zombie-like mutated creatures, adventure, dark, horror, survival. -------------------------------------------- Inspiration: Resident Evil definitely inspired the world. Growing up, I played the Resident Evil games and watched the movies. All of The Walking Dead never entertained me because it was mostly drama and hardly any tension. 28 Days/Weeks later, Resident Evil, World War Z, Army of the Dead, Train to Busan, All of us are Dead, Z Nation, etc. are all cemented in my brain as thrilling pieces of zombie fiction. -------------------------------------------- Support the Author: Please use coins/stones/golden tickets, or review my novel!

The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

The Apocalypse descended as the world turned into a game. And while everyone panicked, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with my eyes. [Logging into the Game Master’s Account!] And my ‘oh-so-average’ destiny, changed into ‘is this a cheat life?’ Kind of destiny. [Would you like to Create a Skill? GM Points will be consumed!] While others struggled to kill a single goblin, I was searching for stronger monsters. While they were happy with getting even a random weak skill, I was customizing what kind of skills I needed. Even my Talents and Gifts can be customised. The only limit was my imagination. Heck, even the hidden quests that people would trigger randomly were present in front of me even before the scenario began.  It wasn’t fair by any means. But isn’t that how life is already? [Would you like to make changes to the quests in the next scenario? GM Points will be consumed!] Is this how an apocalypse is supposed to be? I don’t know. I just tried following the script in front of everyone while trying out my cheat in hindsight. Don't get me wrong with the ‘pig eating tiger’ kind of thing. I just don’t like attention. I would rather stay with two trusted friends than with 10 fake ones. [Would you like to Initiate a Custom quest for the Players? GM Points will be consumed!] And for the players who were bullying the ‘weak’ me. One may even wonder how they ended up losing half of their stats and skills in a randomly triggered impossible type of quest.  Fate can be truly scary, you know?  One must always be careful of it.
