Blood and Sparks: The Edge of Power

Kai’s life was small—coffee-stained mornings, cracked recipes, and a system in his head that tweaked toasters and dough like it was nothing. Then the sky shattered. Aliens—Skraiths, jagged and brutal—invaded, tearing his city apart with green-glowing weapons and relentless claws. Superhumans rose to fight back, fire and lightning blazing through the chaos, but Kai’s world crumbled with them. Hiding in his apartment, Kai stumbles on blood—human and alien, smeared on his wall after a superhuman battle. His system, once just a tinker’s tool, awakens, offering him a choice: mimic their powers, temporary and wild, through the blood itself. Desperate, he takes it—stealing pyrokinesis, then electrokinesis, then kinetic energy, each power burning through him, fading fast. But it’s not enough. Armed with a humming Skraith weapon and a body tougher from alien blood, Kai joins a ragtag crew of enhanced fighters—Liv, Rylan, Jace, and Tucker—scraping to survive in a warzone where every shadow hides death. As Skraiths swarm and the city burns, Kai’s system pushes him deeper, analyzing, integrating, crafting minor enhancements—durability, strength, sparks of power that could make him a target or a savior. Government factions, rogue scientists, and the aliens themselves start sniffing around, drawn to his strange tech and blood-stolen abilities. By the time Kai crafts his first super-powered enhancement—an artificial strength boost—he’s no longer just a tinkerer. He’s on the edge of something bigger, something dangerous, where blood and sparks could forge a hero—or break him entirely. In a world unraveling, Kai’s fight for survival becomes a desperate race to master his system, outrun the Skraiths, and confront the truth: the power he’s chasing might destroy him—or remake the world.

I TURNED GAY AFTER A DRUNKEN NIGHT

“What's done is done! Let's just forget it!” He said and acted nonchalantly, even though he was cowering in fear because something was telling him that the stranger in front of him didn't intend to let go. The man's frown increases and Hayden swears that the temperature in the room increases multiple times. After winning over his heart and stealing his first, this boy wanted to avoid responsibility, which made Zenos annoyed. “You want to run away from me?” He asked in annoyance, and suddenly Hayden found himself under the man without even knowing how. “I'm just…” Hayden wasn't able to finish his words before he was domineeringly kissed by the stranger. Zenos used his left hand to pin Hayden's hand on top of Hayden's head effortlessly. Hayden tried to struggle and blocked the stranger's tongue from dominating his mouth by pressing his lips against each other stubbornly, but the man unexpectedly bit Hayden's bottom lips, making Hayden yelp in pain. The man used that chance to clean all the taste of strawberries in Hayden's mouth, while his right hand continued to stroke Hayden's body wantonly. When Hayden was starting to go dizzy due to shortness of breath, he was released by the man's assault. He breathed in and out rapidly and thanked heaven for the chance to live again. “You can't run away from me… You are mine” Zenos growled into Hayden's neck possessively. Hayden felt a shiver run through his spine after hearing the stranger's words. His breath hitched as the man licked his earlobe and kissed his neck with extreme familiarity, domineeringly. “Mine,” the stranger proclaimed again. The stranger gave a low curse word and rolled off Hayden's shivering sensitive body, “I'll spare you because you're still in pain. You won't be as lucky next time” he said and lifted Hayden's chin to peck him one more time while Hayden stared dumbfounded. BY THE EDGE OF THE SPEAR BOOK 1

BY THE EDGE OF THE SPEAR is a saga of Africa, a tale of conflict and love, unbreakable bonds, magic and the wonder of the African experience. It follows the mighty deeds of several heroes and heroines. The story is set 300 hundred years ago in East Africa where three communities are in conflict. The Maarati are pastoralists while the Anyaga are farmers. The two have had an uneasy co-existence with regular feuding for many years. Then enter the third force, the Nkolwane, who are sweeping everything in their path as they expand from the south, using both wizards (called Innaxzi) and warriors. The story follows the adventures of our hero Kiama, a youth who, though quite weak in warrior skills, is nevertheless quite strong in the arcane arts, something that he doesn’t know about until he is “awakened” by an old woman. The Maarati and Anyaga communities ascertain through their seers that there is a community from the south that is destroying all other communities in their path. They decide to unite their forces to combat this common threat. Kiama is one of the few who will have an intimate but painful knowledge of the southern enemy early on. The two communities marshal their might both arcane and force of arms to counter their enemy. We have Muniu and Runo of the Anyaga, mighty warriors with something to prove, and then there’s Lerionka, regiment commander of the Maarati and his beloved and beautiful Ntalei, their love beset by so many obstacles. There is Lengoibon, also regiment commander and a vicious rival of lerionka, there is Mukungu, a crafty, evil and cunning elder of Anyaga. Need I mention Kui, beautiful, proud, and oh so gifted lady of the Anyaga, Uloziba the stunningly beautiful Innaxzzi spy and scout of the Nkolwane, Wangari seer of Anyaga, and Samute the Oloibon of Maarati, each unique and powerful. This tale has not been told. This tale will now be told. This tale will keep you riveted to your seat. We promise you that.

Too Gay for You: Don't Give me Heart Eyes (GL)

Popular girl Ari Cho is absolutely charming, leaving Yumi Kim, the school nerd, so gay to function normally. ** FOREWORD: Like any other day, I sat back and watched Ari hold court in the far corner of the school cafeteria. She was surrounded by her usual swarm of admirers, each one trying—and failing—to win her over. One by one, they crumbled under the weight of her gentle rejections, their faces painted with the sting of unrequited affection. Oh, what a marvellous sight to behold. The scene took a dramatic turn when two of the boys started arguing, throwing out accusations about who was making Ari more uncomfortable. The irony was almost too good—they were both so oblivious to the fact that their entire presence was likely making her want to bolt out the door. I took another bite of my sandwich, savouring the free entertainment. Poor Ari, trapped in the middle of a gaggle of hormonal teenagers who genuinely believed their cringe-worthy displays of “manliness” would sweep her off her feet. Pathetic. You might be wondering why I’m not stepping in to rescue Ari from that circus of admirers. Well, let me give you three solid reasons why meddling is a terrible idea for me. First, I’m no Superman—I don’t do heroic deeds. Second, I’m far too comfortable living my drama-free life to jeopardise it now. And third, let’s be real, my body is definitely not built for a catfight. As I happily munched on my sandwich, enjoying the chaos from a safe distance, I made a grave error, I locked eyes with Ari. Oh, crap. Picture this: while the two idiotic boys were still mid-argument, Ari—with a slightly shy smile—started walking towards my direction, her tray of food balanced in her hands. No, no, no. God, please tell me she’s not actually coming to talk to m— “Hi, Yumi!” she said casually, her smile so bright it could power a small city. ** OTHER STORIES: Miss Not So Typical (on going) Join the discord: https://discord.gg/mCBYVgW8MH
