The Devourer’s Journey
Johann Freyy had long accepted that life wasn’t for him. Every job he’d tried seemed to slip through his fingers, and each dismissal stung harder than the last. He was tired—tired of trying, tired of failing, tired of feeling like he was never enough. As a construction worker on a planet that was suffocating under its own weight, opportunities were few and far between, and the ones that existed were often out of reach for someone like him. A simple mistake, one that wasn’t even his fault, had cost him the only job he retained for a long period of time, and that was the breaking point.
He had nothing left. No hope. No future.
But that night, as he sat in a rowdy bar, surrounded by faces just as worn and defeated as his own, something changed. There, amid the noise and chaos, he overheard a conversation that would change his life for the better or worse.
