The Fox and The Kindred
In the vast, unknowable fabric of existence, there is one truth that binds all: life begins, and death follows. These two forces, inseparable and eternal, shape the world in quiet harmony. And yet, their forms are rarely seen. Few ever glimpse Lamb, the soft hand of passing, or Wolf, the relentless shadow that hunts in the dark. Together, they are the Kindred, the embodiment of death's many faces.
Theirs is an endless purpose, without question or pause. They are the end of every story, the last chapter written in the book of all who live. Yet even the Kindred, timeless and absolute, do not fully grasp the essence of what they end.
Then came the Fox.
It happened one day in the space between certainty and surprise. Where the Kindred walked, life faded; but where this Fox moved, life surged. Flowers unfurled in his wake, streams sang songs long forgotten, and the earth trembled with vitality. He was no mere mortal but something more-a spirit who carried the weight of life itself.
And for the first time, the Kindred hesitated.
This was not a creature to be hunted out of malice or duty. Fox ran not out of fear but as if inviting pursuit. There was a playfulness in his evasion, a purpose behind every step. For the Kindred, it was a disruption unlike any other, a dance of hunter and hunted that challenged the very nature of their existence.
As the chase begins, Lamb and Wolf find themselves pulled into a world they have never truly known. Life, vibrant and unyielding, stands before them in defiance of their eternal truth. And in their pursuit, they must grapple with questions they have never dared to ask.
Can death understand life? And does life, in its endless bloom, truly fear the end?
