Fractured Horizon: Shadows of the Apocalypse

Nova City, Earth - 2,150 A.D Ryne, an athletic teenager with a penchant for parkour, is trying his best to survive in a world that does nothing but punish him. Haunted by the sudden death of his mother six years prior, Ryne’s father forced him and his sister to move to the neglected and financially disadvantaged district known only as ‘Fracture’. Within this unforgiving environment, Ryne endures physical abuse from his father and psychological torment from his peers. All the while fiercely protecting his vulnerable younger sister. Just as hope fades, Ryne’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Brad and his group, kindred spirits who share his passion for parkour. As their friendship deepens, Ryne finds a sense of family among his fellow inhabitants of Fracture. However, a mysterious voice whispered in Ryne’s ears. [The apocalypse is imminent, one month remains.] With time running out, he must hold on to hope in the face of despair. As the countdown to annihilation unfolds, the mysterious voice sets various tasks for Ryne. When the time ticks down to zero, people across the globe manifest bizarre and extraordinary abilities while the rest of humanity transforms into grotesque and monstrous creatures. Ryne must confront his inner demons and make a choice—cling to the flickering ember of hope or succumb to the overwhelming despair surrounding him—all the while navigating a landscape plagued by mutant beings. ----------------------------------------------------- Author's Note: As you may know, I'm also the author of My Undeath, a reincarnation novel set in a fantasy world. It wasn't my best work, but I loved writing the story. I put a lot more time and effort into Fractured Horizon, and ironed out the details over the course of a year before writing and publishing it here. If you liked My Undeath, this novel has almost ten times more planning put into it before release. ----------------------------------------------------- Schedule: 7-15 chapters per week Chapter Length 1,000-2,000 words Disclaimers: 1. The 'Earth' in this world is not as we know it to be. Applying common sense is pointless. 2. There are not any planned harems. 3. Increasing powers/strength in this novel will feel similar to cultivation, but this is not a cultivation novel. 4. These creatures aren't zombies as you know them and will not be called such by the characters, but that's all I will say here. -------------------------------------------- Themes: fantasy, science fiction, zombie-like mutated creatures, adventure, dark, horror, survival. -------------------------------------------- Inspiration: Resident Evil definitely inspired the world. Growing up, I played the Resident Evil games and watched the movies. All of The Walking Dead never entertained me because it was mostly drama and hardly any tension. 28 Days/Weeks later, Resident Evil, World War Z, Army of the Dead, Train to Busan, All of us are Dead, Z Nation, etc. are all cemented in my brain as thrilling pieces of zombie fiction. -------------------------------------------- Support the Author: Please use coins/stones/golden tickets, or review my novel!

The Monarch’s Ashes

Cassian Vale was a hero—celebrated, trusted, and utterly betrayed. Accused of treason against the empire he once swore to protect, he was sentenced to death by fire, his body reduced to embers before the eyes of thousands. But death does not claim him. Buried beneath the ashes of his own execution, Cassian wakes in a ruined husk of a body, alive but forever burned. The world has moved on, his name whispered only in curses, his memory fading like smoke. Yet, something else lingers within him—a presence, a hunger, a power that should not exist. As he returns to the empire’s capital in search of answers, Cassian uncovers a horrifying truth: he is not the first to suffer this fate. Every emperor before him met the same fiery end, only to vanish without a trace. Their souls, twisted and bound to the empire, whisper to him in the dark, guiding him toward a destiny steeped in blood and ruin. But the deeper he digs, the less human he becomes. His body no longer obeys mortal laws, his reflection moves when he does not, and the world itself seems to bend around his will. He is evolving—but into what? Now, Cassian stands at a crossroads: Unravel the ancient curse binding the empire’s rulers to a fate worse than death. Burn the throne that betrayed him and forge a new path, no matter the cost. Succumb to the monstrous power rising within him and take his place as the true god of the fallen. In a world where history is written in fire and blood, Cassian Vale will either be its final ruler… or its executioner.

Cinta Seorang Lycan

``` SELESAI! Potongan: Setahun yang lalu Raine keluar dari lembaga kejiwaan dan harus tinggal di panti asuhan. Itu bukan tempat terbaik. Paling tidak, tidak untuk seseorang sepertinya. Hingga satu malam yang menentukan dia bertemu dengannya. *** Ia menghentikan mobilnya. Cengkeraman pada selimut itu semakin kuat saat Raine bertanya-tanya apakah dia telah melakukan sesuatu yang salah. Ia bisa merasakannya ketika Torak mengulurkan tangannya kepadanya. Apakah dia akan memukul saya? Raine menggigil dengan pemikiran itu. Torak menarik kap hoodie Raine sehingga terbuka dan dengan lembut merapikan rambutnya ke belakang telinganya. "Jangan." Katanya tegas, "Aku ingin melihatmu, jangan menyembunyikan dirimu…" ************** “Roh dari malaikat pelindung akan meniupkan kehidupan baru ke dalam anak manusia. Tiga malaikat pelindung akan terlahir kembali ke dunia duniawi dan kalian bertigalah yang akan menjadi penjaga mereka.” “Penjaga!!?” Jedrek terkejut. Akhirnya, ia berhenti berjalan dan berbalik untuk memandang dewi bulan dari kejauhan, matanya berkilat merah dalam kemarahan. Serigala dalam dirinya sangat marah. “Kenapa kau pikir kami akan membantu?” tanya Kace sambil menyempitkan matanya yang serupa obsidian hitam, serigalanya mengambil alih dirinya. Dia adalah yang termuda di antara mereka bertiga dan yang paling bisa mengendalikan amarahnya. Mereka bertiga dikutuk oleh Selene karena tindakan buas mereka dalam mencari kekuasaan dan kekuatan tertinggi. Dewi bulan tidak memberkati mereka dengan pasangan sebagai hukuman atas cara mereka yang kejam dan memaksa mereka untuk terlibat dalam perang mematikan ini dengan para iblis. “Kau akan menjadikan kami budak bagi makhluk-makhluk sakit itu!?” Torak bertanya tidak percaya. “Tidakkah kau takut bahwa kami akan mematahkan mereka menjadi dua?” Malaikat pelindung sangat rapuh dan mereka sebagai lycanthrope tidak menghargai kelemahan. “Tidak, kalian tidak akan.” Selene berkata dengan sabar. “Kalian tidak akan menjadi budak mereka atau menyakiti mereka, kalian akan menghargai mereka dengan setiap cara yang mungkin.” Jedrek tertawa mengancam mendengar ini, mereka tidak peduli tentang kebangkitan si binatang buas, sekali mereka melewati wilayah mereka, dengan atau tanpa malaikat pelindung, dia akan merobek-robek tubuh mereka. "Saya akan menjadi orang terakhir yang mereka lihat, begitu saya menemukan mereka.” Ia mengacu pada malaikat pelindung dan iblis tersebut. Namun, suara berikutnya dari Selene dipenuhi dengan ceria saat dia berbicara. “Kalian tidak akan menyakiti pasangan kalian.” ============================ Sesi 1 (bab 1 - 394) : Torak Donovan - Raine (selesai). The Secrets of CHIAROSCURO (The Demon's Eye)
In a world once ruled by elemental forces and primal creatures, the balance of power has long been shattered. Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, and Humans—each race has carved its own legacy, but none remain untouched by the tides of war and betrayal. Once, these factions waged battles that scorched the land and stained history with blood. Now, the war has faded into myth, and fragile peace clings to existence like a dying ember. But peace was never meant to last. A kingdom watches with unease as old wounds fester beneath the surface, as forbidden ties between predator and prey threaten to upend everything. Whispers of rebellion stir in the streets, ancient forces awaken in the shadows, and a forgotten prophecy looms on the horizon. Amidst this brewing storm, a child is born—a being who is the product of two worlds, a hybrid of Vampire and Human, a symbol of opposing forces intertwined. His existence alone is enough to ignite fury, to challenge the natural order, and to become the spark that could either unite the fractured lands or set them ablaze once more. Secrets buried deep in history will rise. Loyalties will be tested. And in the end, only one truth remains: Power is the only law, and those without it will be devoured. What happens when the past refuses to stay buried? When the sins of old return to claim their debt? This is not a fairy tale. This is the truth they wanted forgotten. Welcome to The Secrets of Chiaroscuro.
Hyperborea
"Once upon a time..." "There was a young man named Fionn." "He was the king of the Hyperboreans, a civilization that thrived in the distant north of the world, where peace and harmony reigned beneath skies of eternal frost." "One day, during one of his habitual walks beyond the walls of his grand, crystalline castle, Fionn heard a peculiar sound—a sharp squealing that pierced the stillness of the white forest surrounding his domain." "Startled and alert, he gripped the hilt of his regal sword and followed the noise, his boots crunching softly over snow-dusted leaves. As he pushed through the pale foliage, the source of the sound revealed itself—a girl, cornered by a thur." "The creature was monstrous, towering over both the girl and Fionn himself. Its thick, gnarled skin was the color of ash, mottled with scars and patches of coarse, dark hair. A pair of jagged tusks jutted from its wide, snarling mouth, and its eyes glowed faintly, like embers in a dying fire. Long, sinewy arms ended in clawed hands that could snap trees like twigs, and its breath came out in ragged, steaming huffs, filling the air with a stench of decay." "The thur growled, advancing on the girl with a lumbering gait, its massive frame causing the ground to tremble faintly beneath its weight. Every instinct in Fionn's body screamed at him to flee, but he stood firm." "Drawing his sword in one fluid motion, the king lunged forward. With a single, decisive strike, he felled the monster, its roar silenced as it collapsed into the snow." "-Are you all right?- Fionn asked, his voice steady but gentle as he turned toward the girl." "But she didn't respond. She didn't even look at him." "Fionn frowned, puzzled by her silence. Perhaps she was too shaken by the attack to speak, he thought. Yet, something else caught his attention—something even more peculiar." "Her skin. It wasn't the pale, snowy white of the Hyperboreans. It was... pink. A soft, warm hue unlike anything he had ever seen." "-Ehm... I know this might sound a little inappropriate, but... where are you from? You don't look like anyone from here,- Fionn ventured cautiously, hoping for a reply. But still, she said nothing." "-Wait!- He suddenly realized, his eyes widening. -Could it be that you don't understand me?-" "If she didn't respond because she didn't know his language, then she couldn't be from Hyperborea—or even anywhere nearby. But where else could she be from? Beyond Hyperborea, there was only the vast, unending sea... wasn't there?" "-Could it be that she's from one of the other Nine Worl—- Fionn's thoughts were abruptly interrupted as the girl rose to her feet." "She stepped closer to him, her movements deliberate but strange, her expression unreadable. She—Oh!" ~Ronf~ ~Ronf~ ~Ronf~ "Looks like Artair is already asleep..." The mother lowered the book gently, a warm smile on her lips as she gazed at her son's peaceful face. "He must have played a lot today. I usually read him more of the story before he falls asleep..." Leaning over, she placed a soft kiss on his forehead. "Good night, my little Artair." With a quiet sigh, she tucked the blanket around him even more snugly than before, then rose from the bedside. Extinguishing the torch that lit his room, she left, closing the door behind her with care. In the dim stillness of the house, she paused, looking out through the small window at the darkened village. Her thoughts turned inward as she whispered to herself: "I hope, at least, that you'll be able to live a life free from war..."
