Kaito D. Vesperis was just an ordinary college student living on Earth, obsessed with anime and lost in his own thoughts about the missing piece in his life. Despite the love of his parents and a bright future ahead, something always felt off. After pulling an all-nighter at the library, exhausted, he made his way home, his senses dulled by fatigue. But fate had different plans for him. As he walked across the street, too tired to notice the approaching truck, Kaito was struck and killed instantly.
However, death was just the beginning.
Kaito awoke on a deserted island with no clear memory of how he got there. His hunger led him to a strange fruit, and without thinking, he devoured it, masking the foul taste with his ravenous appetite. Once finished, everything went black. When he regained consciousness, something felt different. A new power coursed through him, and he quickly realized that the island was not where he thought it was—he was in the One Piece world.
In a twist of fate, Kaito discovered he had eaten a Devil Fruit, the Zettai Yami Yami no Mi (Model: Absolute Darkness Fruit). With its powers over the shadows, darkness, and the very fabric of reality itself, he realized that he had gained abilities far beyond what he could have imagined. Naturally, he began testing his newfound powers, growing more confident with each passing day.
His journey led him to Cocoyasi Village, where he met Nojiko, and soon realized he was in the world of One Piece, just before Nami and the Straw Hat Pirates would begin their journey. With a fire lit in his heart, Kaito declared that he would grow stronger, mastering his fruit's power and carving his own path through the Grand Line.
But the world he now finds himself in is dangerous, and Kaito must face not only the pirates of the seas but the darkness within himself that threatens to consume everything. He is a force to be reckoned with, a man born from darkness, but will it be enough to change the world around him, or will the shadows swallow him whole?
The question remains: Can Kaito truly master the Absolute Darkness and carve his name into the history of the Grand Line? Or will he fade into the void of the sea’s endless night?
