A killer on the loose scares them, but the look of disdain their parents give them after every failed test doesn't even phase them. Really, they should all be worried about what goes on behind closed doors. Aruna's father is a cheater, lying and gambling his way to fame. Takue's mother drowns her sorrows in liquor, attempting to forget her husband's suicide. Ayato's sister sleeps with a different guy every day in a desperate attempt to hold together her failing life. True suffering, the essence of which can't even be looked at in the eyes, hides from them, and they're too scared to even look it in the eyes.' I slammed my journal closed.
