Sweeping Him Off His Feet

Warning… Matured content!! "You," Augustine began, his voice firm and direct. "I'm making you an offer: we get married, immediately. This isn't a request, it's a demand." Augustine's uttered with a piercing gaze. Charles scoffed. “What type of bullshit is that?” He fired back. *** Augustine Wales is a cold CEO who is known as the most successful and influential business man in Country H. His name alone commanded respect, his steely gaze and cold demeanor strike fear into even the most hardened of hearts. He was a man of few words, each syllable weighted with the power of his position. On the eve of Augustine Wales 29th birthday, he received an unexpected call from his family, their demands clear and uncompromising: find a spouse, or forfeit your stake in the family's vast wealth and influence. In that very moment after receiving the phone call, the gaze of Augustine fell upon a young man named Charles Donald and without thinking twice, Augustine immediately made a proposal to Charles, but was met with a swift rejection. Augustine's proposal was rooted in desperation but little did he know that fate was drawing him toward a future he never could have predicted. "What will happen when Augustine Wales, the powerful CEO, finds himself unexpectedly falling for Charles Donald, a humble cleaner in his office?" "When Charles' deadly secrets rise to the surface, will their fragile bond shatter, or will their love prove strong enough to weather the storm?"

Silentium Universi

John awakened to a cold, concrete room, with no memory of how he got there, nor much of what occurred before. Approached with floating screens, and a new body, the world formed itself around him, leaving only a path forward. After fighting through an unforgivable scenario, he awakens years later in the 2nd layer, a dense, non-euclidian collection of offices, hotels, and common rooms, surrounded by an unending void. Eager to find others, he discovers that he's not alone... all of humanity has experienced the same thing, and many have lived in this hell for years, looking for answers. John must navigate this strange new world, dodging terrifying monsters, gaining power, and learning the boundaries of this insane reality. Note: This story does NOT use ai in any way, but the cover is a temporary AI cover, made by Gemini AI Image Generation, which serves as a placeholder and inspiration for when I eventually spend the time to make one myself. Once again, there is NO ai use in editing, brainstorming, proof-reading, or writing. The entire creative process is mine and mine alone. The cover art is not subject to copyright. 2nd Note: Hey hi, I just wanted to talk about the LITRPG aspect of this story. I generally dislike a heavy emphasis on LITRPG, because I think later in the story it can become a number-hungry, scattered story with tens of abilities, which I think doesn't give a good reading experience. While I value the progression fantasy, I prefer not going along with typical forms of LITRPG, and instead using the stats and titles as more of a guideline for the strength characters earn. Therefore, there are no levels, no stat gain quests or anything similar to that. Stats increase as the character physically becomes stronger, not artificially. Items don't give arbitrary stats or attack power that means essentially nothing (like attack from solo leveling - love that story btw, literally one of my favorite stories ever). So yea, the power system is less of giving people power, and more of guiding people through their progression. Plus, it leaves more room for the traits system to take place, which [redacted]. So yea, hope you enjoy this, but you won't see "level up" anywhere throughout this story. Thanks for reading! But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes. One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese, Yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice, Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice. If the plural of man is always called men, Why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen? If I speak of my foot and show you my feet, And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet? If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, Why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth? Then one may be that, and three would be those, Yet hat in the plural would never be hose, And the plural of cat is cats, not cose. We speak of a brother and also of brethren, But though we say mother, we never say methren. Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him, But the plural is not the, this, or thim!
