Farrah Penn

Dichotomy.

The Alpha is missing, the Luna is dead, and the pack is splintering apart. *** She's an orphan, a witch hiding amongst humans, all she wants is freedom and stability. *** After her foster mom dies unexpectedly, 17-year-old Charlotte is hauled away to North-North Rochester, a strange little town just south of the Canadian border. From the moment Charlotte arrives, she can't wait to leave. Her new foster family does little to hide their less-than-pure intentions and she’s tired of being treated like wretched refuse. The teen longs for the freedom to embrace what she truly is, a witch. All she has to do is make it to her 18th birthday and she can leave this little town and her former foster life with it in the dust. N.N.R. may seem like a typical sleepy little town from the outside, but its citizens are anything but. Inhabited by the Arcanum Lunae pack, it was once a place where werewolves enjoyed a natural way of living. However, ten years ago, they made the mistake of welcoming a witch into their pack. Five years after that she cursed them, severing their connection with the Moon Goddess and leaving them stuck, unable to shift. One of the unfortunate souls trapped in wolf-skin is Giovanni. For years he has been fighting his wolf instincts, trying to maintain some humanity, but he’s almost given up hope. That is until he meets the skinny foster girl who's been dumped in his town. He’s shocked to learn that Charlotte is his mate and she’s a witch. Despite his rocky history with witches, Gio has no qualms about accepting Charlotte. Unfortunately, his pack is not so easily convinced. And who could blame them? Trusting a witch is what got them into this situation in the first place. Obviously, they have no desire to trust another one. Too bad they're going to have to... As secrets are unveiled and hidden plots uncovered, it becomes clear that the truth is far more complicated than any of them imagined and the real enemy is one they never expected.

His Curse Her Redeemer

[Trigger warnings!: This is dark Romance, Gory themes and bloodshed, curse words and mature content] ** "No, please!" I cried out, as I sat up immediately, cradling my hurt shoulder. He just stood there staring in a deadly calm way at me. "Don't hurt me, please." I sobbed hysterically. The more I dragged my butt along the floor to get away from him, the closer he got, with those torturously slow daunting steps of his. He soon closed the remaining distance between us and came to kneel on one knee beside me. I kept my gaze on my shaky hand which was on my lap while the other cradled my hurt arm carefully. "Hurt you?" He threw his head back and chuckled like it was the most funny thing he'd heard in ages. I couldn't help but stare at his attractive features as he chuckled. Although those chuckles were unsettling. "Hurt you? I'll do more than hurt you if I was given the chance." As at this time, there was no trace of laughter on his face, just pure animosity. I felt a shiver run down my spine at his words. "You don't deserve to live, curse." He drew closer to me so we were just a few inches apart, and whispered very slowly. ** She was his curse and he was her redeemer. How would you feel if one day you find out that you know nothing about yourself. Even your age had been a lie all along. Although Seraphina knew that she had lost her memory, seeing as she woke up one day by the side of a river bank knowing nothing about herself except her name and her fake age, she never seized to wonder what had happened to her. She had always wondered why she brought bad luck to people who really cared for her. She had always wondered what that missing part of her memory entailed. She had always wondered why he wouldn't leave her be. Him. The tall man with the blonde hair, black eyes, signature cloak and a heartless army. Why did he send her messages on the walls? Why could she feel his presence? Why was he after her, killing the families and villagers that always took her in, that cared for her? Why was he playing a game of hide and seek? He obviously could catch her if he wanted, but he seemed to enjoy the chase. Why? And then one day she realised why. It was no other reason than because she was a curse. His Curse. And he was her Redeemer. Find me on Instagram @officialeseagbontaen

Einstein’s Brain Was Stolen And Went Missing For Decades

It might sound like the plot of a sci-fi B-movie, but Einstein's brain really was stolen shortly after his passing. In the 19th century, the brains of geniuses were often preserved so that scientists could try to determine the origins of that person's intelligence. For example, half of the brain of Charles Babbage, inventor of the first computing machine, is still on display at the Hunterian Museum at London's Royal College of Surgeons. Einstein was aware that scientists might want to study his brain after his passing and explicitly forbade it, knowing that such studies rarely produce useful information. Nevertheless, when Einstein passed at Princeton Hospital in the early morning of April 18, 1955, the pathologist who examined him, Dr. Thomas Harvey, decided to remove the brain on his own initiative for future study. Dr. Harvey took Einstein's brain home, divided it into 240 pieces and stored it in two mason jars filled with celloidin. Shortly after Einstein's cremation, his son Hans Albert found out about the theft and was furious. But Dr. Harvey convinced him to let him keep the brain.  Taking the brain of the world's most famous physicist without permission did have professional consequences for Dr. Harvey. He soon lost both his job at Princeton Hospital and his marriage, then moved to the Midwest where he took a series of jobs either practicing medicine or running research labs. He kept Einstein's brain for the next several decades - at one point storing it in a cider box underneath a beer cooler - hoping to unlock the secrets of Einstein's intelligence. The fate of Einstein's brain was mostly unknown until 1978, when a reporter tracked Harvey down in Wichita, Kansas. The magazine article about Harvey brought a flood of requests for samples of the brain to study, and starting in 1985, scientists began publishing their findings. Many of these studies did claim to find some differences between Einstein's brain and that of a "normal" person, but they also lacked representative control groups, making their findings suspect. And even if these studies had been conducted more effectively, neurology still hasn't determined whether the physical structures of the brain actually affect a person's intelligence.  Today, what remains of Einstein's brain resides at the Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, New Jersey. Almost nobody is allowed to see it, not even researchers. But many more pieces of Einstein's brain can possibly still be found across America, thanks to Dr. Harvey's habit of giving away pieces of it to curious friends.
