Synopsis Eighteen-year-old Alaric is well-acquainted with the art of boredom. His life drips with monotony, and fate seems determined to keep it that way. But, on an otherwise ordinary afternoon, he finds himself with his equally eccentric friend, Ragna, pondering life's oddities over cheap coffee and greasy food. Between mouthfuls of fried rice at their favorite street-side warung, the two begin theorizing: “What if magic and mythical creatures once roamed the Earth, back in some mystical age?” Their musings, however, are cut short when their world inexplicably blurs around them. Blinking, they suddenly find themselves somewhere ... utterly bizarre. The air feels primal, the surroundings raw and ancient. It's not long before they realize they’ve somehow warped back to prehistory. There are no modern comforts, no smartphones—just endless wilderness and the terrifying realization that they might have been flung to the dawn of humanity. And to top it off? NOTE - 12.10.2024 ---------------------------------------------------------------- After taking some time away to reflect, I’ve reread the chapters I’ve published so far. While they’re not necessarily bad, I’ve realized that I’ve strayed from my original vision and intent for the story. Essentially, I’ve failed to get to the heart of what I truly want to write, using the prologue as a convenient excuse to overlook this issue. As a result, I’ve decided to rewrite the story once more. This will be my final attempt before moving on to another original novel I’m working on if this rewrite doesn’t meet my expectations. This time, I can’t promise that I won’t make significant changes to the story. And to be honest, I’m not sure if anyone will even see or read this message. Regardless, my plan is to publish the new prologue all at once (if I decide to keep one), followed by regular updates of the chapters in the first arc. Additionally, I’ve decided to adjust the chapter lengths. Moving forward, chapters will range from 1500 to 3000 words, rather than exceeding 4000 words. This change should make the story more digestible and easier to manage overall and write. I’m not certain when I’ll finish, but I wanted to provide an update.
