The Rings of Sovereignty

In a world reshaped by the collapse of ancient kingdoms, the death of the legendary Kings of Fire, Thunder, Beasts, Order, and Chaos marked the dawn of a new era. The once-mighty kingdoms have crumbled, giving way to modern states, but the potent legacy of these monarchs remains in the form of five mystical rings. Each ring embodies the unique power of its former ruler, offering unimaginable strength to those who dare to claim them. As the dust of the old world settles, a shadowy organization emerges, masquerading as an archaeological expedition in search of ancient relics. Their true mission, however, is far more sinister: to unearth these rings, believed to be weapons of unparalleled power, capable of shifting the global balance. Alric Kincaid is a brilliant young scholar at Harvard University, on the cusp of graduation with a thesis on the elusive deep state. His academic pursuits take an unexpected turn when he becomes embroiled in a deadly international conspiracy. One fateful night, after a harrowing encounter with Russian intelligence agents, Alric is wounded and finds himself hiding near a forgotten statue, its hand adorned with a mysterious ring. Driven by a blend of curiosity and survival instincts, Alric takes the ring, unknowingly setting off a chain of events that will alter the course of history. As he examines the artifact at home, he discovers its connection to the lost kings and the immense power it holds. The ring becomes both a beacon and a curse, drawing attention from powerful factions and individuals who would stop at nothing to possess it. With danger lurking at every turn, Alric must navigate a treacherous world of espionage, ancient secrets, and political intrigue. As he unravels the mystery of the rings, he realizes that the future of nations hangs in the balance. Alric is thrust into a race against time to prevent the resurgence of chaos and tyranny, armed only with his wits, the enigmatic ring, and the reluctant allies he gathers along the way. In a story that blends the mystique of ancient powers with the relentless pace of a modern thriller, "The Rings of Sovereignty" explores the enduring conflict between order and chaos, the burden of power, and the choices that shape destinies. Will Alric succeed in keeping the rings from falling into the wrong hands, or will the world witness the return of a forgotten era's dark reign?

The Spaces Between What We Said.

When transfer student Haruki Sakamoto accidentally walks into Professor Akizuki's "Psychology of Human Attachment" class, he expects to quietly slip out unnoticed. Instead, he finds himself captivated by both the subject matter and Noa Hoshizaki, a brilliant psychology major whose analytical approach to relationships challenges everything he thought he knew about love. Haruki has spent years analyzing emotions in literature while remaining clueless about his own feelings. Noa excels at academic theory but struggles with the practical application of healthy relationship patterns. Together, they embark on what begins as an intellectual exploration of attachment theory and evolves into something much more profound—learning how to love each other intentionally and well. Under Professor Akizuki's mentorship, they discover that relationships don't have to be mysterious or dramatic to be meaningful. Instead, they learn to apply psychological research to their own connection, developing communication skills, supporting each other's individual growth, and choosing conscious partnership over unconscious patterns inherited from childhood. As their romance deepens, so does their academic collaboration. Haruki's research on attachment pattern development complements Noa's thesis on therapeutic interventions, leading to discoveries that could influence how people understand and develop healthier relationships. Their work attracts attention from graduate programs across the country, forcing them to choose between geographic proximity and pursuing the academic opportunities that align with their individual goals. They decide to trust their relationship enough to support each other's dreams, even when it means separation. Noa accepts an early research position at the University of Chicago while Haruki prepares for graduate school at Northwestern. Their love survives the transition from campus romance to long-distance partnership, proving that relationships built on mutual support and intentional communication can thrive despite challenges. By graduation, they've not only learned how to love each other well, but their collaborative research has begun producing findings that could revolutionize relationship psychology. When their independent studies reveal what appears to be a critical period for attachment pattern development in young adults—a window where conscious relationship work produces dramatically accelerated results—they realize they may have discovered something that could help millions of people develop healthier connections. Volume 1 concludes as their research attracts national attention, with publication opportunities and conference presentations that could launch their academic careers. But Noa hints at another discovery that could change everything they think they know about their findings. This is a story about two people who learn that the best relationships aren't accidents of chemistry, but conscious collaborations between partners committed to each other's growth. It's about love that makes people better, research that matters, and the discovery that understanding attachment theory isn't just academic—it's the foundation for building lasting partnership. A romance for readers who believe love can be both analytical and passionate, practical and profound. More volume will be out soon!

The genealogy of morals

On the Genealogy of Morality: A Polemic (Genealogy of Morals) is an 1887 book by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. It consists of a preface and three interrelated essays that expand and follow through on concepts Nietzsche sketched out in Beyond Good and Evil (1886). The three trace episodes in the evolution of moral concepts with a view to confronting "moral prejudices", specifically those of Christianity and Judaism. Some Nietzsche scholars consider Genealogy to be a work of sustained brilliance and power as well as his masterpiece. Since its publication, it has influenced many authors and philosophers. In the "First Treatise", Nietzsche demonstrates that the two opposite pairs "good/evil" and "good/bad" have very different origins, and that the word "good" itself came to represent two opposed meanings. In the "good/bad" distinction, "good" is synonymous with nobility and everything which is powerful and life-asserting; in the "good/evil" distinction, which Nietzsche calls "slave morality", the meaning of "good" is made the antithesis of the original aristocratic "good", which itself is re-labelled "evil". This inversion of values develops out of the resentment of the powerful by the weak. In the "Second Treatise" Nietzsche advances his thesis that the origin of the institution of punishment is in a straightforward (pre-moral) creditor/debtor relationship. Man relies on the apparatus of forgetfulness in order not to become bogged down in the past. This forgetfulness is, according to Nietzsche, an active "faculty of repression", not mere inertia or absentmindedness. Man needs to develop an active faculty to work in opposition to this, so promises necessary for exercising control over the future can be made: this is memory. Nietzsche's purpose in the "Third Treatise" is "to bring to light, not what ideal has done, but simply what it means; what it indicates; what lies hidden behind it, beneath it, in it; of what it is the provisional, indistinct expression, overlaid with question marks and misunderstandings" (§23). As Nietzsche tells us in the Preface, the Third Treatise is a commentary on the aphorism prefixed to it. Textual studies have shown that this aphorism consists of §1 of the Treatise (not the epigraph to the Treatise, which is a quotation from Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra). This opening aphorism confronts us with the multiplicity of meanings that the ascetic ideal has for different groups: (a) artists, (b) philosophers, (c) women, (d) physiological casualties, (e) priests, and (f) saints. The ascetic ideal, we may thus surmise, means very little in itself, other than as a compensation for humanity's need to have some goal or other. As Nietzsche puts it, man "will rather will nothingness than not will".
