Extra of Anarchy

In today's dystopian world, regret is the number one leading factor behind the creation of fantasy. For a bundle of regrets such as Mark, fantasy was a place where he could choose. And choice was a liberty he never seemed to have. Abused and controlled. Just a sacrificial pawn in another man's game. He absolutely loathed it. But in the very bitter end of his drone-like life, he was given a choice. "Remember that novel you read a few years back, all while cursing it in every chapter's comments?" "...Yeah?" "Well, that was my world..." "Oh..." Mark was given the choice to transmigrate. To right his wrongs; a second chance to live a fulfilling life. But there was always a catch. Mark would never truly be free of bondage. It was up to him to snap the chains of Authority. And in his wake, there would be Anarchy. ────── If you love extra stories, I think you'll really like this. Because I love extra stories! But with all their issues and faults, I felt I could do much better. Updates will be daily, 1-2 chapters a day. English is in fact my first language! Therefore, grammatical errors are unacceptable! Don't settle for less. I frequently go back to re-edit my chapters to ensure that my story is quality. Unfortunately, that wipes out the paragraph comments and may cause a disconnect if you’re caught up as I end up retconning stuff you’ve already read :P This is just my somewhat meta (and mostly subversive) take on the 'Extra' genre of transmigration stories. I'm having a blast writing it so far, and I hope that leaks into the writing and overall plot decisions for you all to eat up. No Harem. Single FL. The Anarchy part of the title will take a bit to get to since I want progression and development to feel natural and earned. Or it may end up being irrelevant to the story, I’ll have to see when I get deeper in, just keeping it real Despite the loose tone of the story, I'm really picky about what I write, and I really try to ensure that what I'm putting out is quality. If you think I'm being a lazy bastard or if there are any glaring issues with my story, please please please leave a comment.

Beneath the Veil of Power

In the world of high-stakes power plays, manipulation, and psychological warfare, Aiden Devereux is a master of control. A brilliant strategist and manipulator, Aiden's rise through the ranks of a shadowy global organization known as The Circle is driven by one goal: to claim ultimate authority over the world's most influential networks. With his unwavering focus on power, Aiden employs every tool at his disposal—deception, seduction, subversion, and mind games—to eliminate rivals and bend the world to his will. But the path to dominance is never clear-cut. As Aiden ascends, he faces growing opposition not just from his enemies, but from the very forces within himself. His manipulations begin to take a toll on his psyche, eroding his sense of morality and forcing him to confront the human cost of his relentless ambition. The deeper he digs into The Circle’s tangled web, the more he uncovers about its dark origins and the hidden figures pulling its strings. As Aiden's mastery over others reaches its peak, he encounters new adversaries—rivals with their own formidable tactics, including a former mentor who knows his every move, and a cunning seductress whose emotional intelligence threatens to destabilize his cold, calculated worldview. But it is not just outside forces that threaten him; the very manipulation he has used to control others begins to turn inward, as he starts questioning if he has become a pawn in a much larger game. When a new figure, Julian Thorne, emerges from the shadows—a strategist with a mind as sharp and dangerous as Aiden’s—the stakes become personal. With The Circle on the brink of collapse, Aiden is faced with an agonizing choice: take control of the empire he has spent years building, or destroy it all and erase the legacy of power that has consumed him. The Serpent’s Throne is a psychological thriller that explores the depths of ambition, the cost of absolute power, and the delicate balance between control and chaos. As Aiden’s world unravels, readers are taken on a harrowing journey through deception, betrayal, and the ultimate test of one man’s will to bend fate to his design.

egg and I .... winning the heart

1946, Betty McDonald’s whimsical autobiography was as popular as baked beans; now it’s almost completely forgotten, but, tellingly, still in print. Alas, after an hour or two with The Egg & I, it was excruciatingly obvious that Betty McDonald’s book is not a classic. On some weeks, there might be as many as five competing challenges for each nonfiction slot, but rarely as straightforward as this. Literary classics cluster on the north face of Parnassus. For this vertiginous terrain there are different sherpas. Italo Calvino says that a classic is “a book that has never finished what it wants to say”. Ezra Pound identifies “a certain eternal and irresponsible freshness”; TS Eliot, much more astringent, observed in The Sacred Wood that “no modern language can hope to produce a classic, in the sense I have called Virgil a classic”. Alan Bennett wryly notes: “Definition of a classic: a book everyone is assumed to have read and often thinks they have.” Among nonfiction classics, the most treacherous category is that creature beloved of publishers – “the contemporary classic”. A second cousin to that notorious impostor is the “instant classic”. Such books will have been judged by slippery criteria: popular and literary critical fashion, a changing marketplace and new technology, bestseller lists and hype. In the past 100 years, a familiar palette of blurbish adjectives has given shape and colour to a moving target: provocative, outrageous, prophetic, groundbreaking, funny, disturbing, revolutionary, moving, inspiring, life-changing, subversive… a portrait of sir walter raleigh wearing a brocaded and beaded doublet The 100 best nonfiction books: No 99 – The History of the World by Walter Raleigh (1614) Read more This list raises another troubling question: is nonfiction “the new fiction”? There are some good writers who will argue that this is so, but I believe that nonfiction (which can sometimes successfully bring together many genres) is not, strictly speaking, a genre of its own. Creatively – yes – using narrative techniques borrowed from fiction, it’s possible to give certain kinds of nonfiction the aura of a distinct new genre. Yet, at the end of the day, “nonfiction” fractures into time-hallowed categories such as philosophy, memoir, history, reportage and poetry (see below), etc. This is particularly true of “nonfiction classics” from the 18th and 19th centuries, titles such as A Treatise of Human Nature by David Hume or On Liberty by JS Mill. By that yardstick, a recent classic will be quite distinct, chiefly because its literary and cultural milieu is so different

The Chronicles of Imogen and the Dragons

In this era, Dragons that live in the ends of the earth, invade the cities and towns of human dwellings, consuming every shred of life form, exhaling fire, pouring dark fumes from their body and hauling humans up in their talons till blood was the sole remains. But unbeknownst to man, there are far greater secrets buried deep beneath the carnivorous and menacing exterior of these Bestial Forages. Imogen, a young damsel from the Kingdom of Tristendyre, had always lived a blyth and peaceful life as the sole apprentice of the Royal Physician at the Imperial Castle, destined to inherit the mantle. However, the Destinies have other courses decided for her life to take: in a story of discovering her true Past and the calling predestined for her Future: a Warrior chosen by an ancient Prophecy to fight the Dragons. Not only is her present life stolen from her, but in this journey, Imogen brushes shoulders with the treachery of Governments, Fugitivity, love and Death. There are also other warriors born in her time, elected by divine Fate to war against the Dragons that breathe threats to the survival of mankind. ~ It was a fair evening in the Kingdom of Tristendyre and the people were about their lives. Just as one would admire the skies of eventide, there was a sudden shot of torrid fire that pierced its way across the heavens. Clouds scampered to make way. The whole scene was rending to favour the advent of large, menacing Rengaulian Dragons. The flames they had breathed began feverishly consuming the contents of the cities, while people fled for their lives. The chaos was unbearable, screams and fright making a mastery of the airs. One of the large beasts rested his perch on the Crown of St. Erdengaur that was the heart of the Kingdom. He roared till even the stars and planets abroad could have heard his battle cry. Tristendyre was in great disarray whilst the savages did slither around the cities and draw out various humans in their talons, consuming them. Various people wilted in the fires while others were intoxicated by the fumes that were expelled from beneath the scales of some dragons. But the Chief Dragon that led the brutal massacre was oddly most fervent in hauling the peak, as though it was unearthing the land thereof for mining treasures. Whilst terror and Death did spread their mantles over the Kingdom, a single throbbing eye could look up into the heavens, through the fire and debris, and see the moon veil her face in blue. Every soul was torn between saving their loved ones or their own breath; status, hatred, love, none of them bore the worth of even a wasted candle at the face of such dire situation of looming Death. Many voices were bloodcurdling screams of pain and fear. Just then, there was a mighty and blaring sound of a Dragon’s bellow erupting and the grounds of St. Erdengaur was spilt, making way for the rise of the most frightful and treacherous looking Beast one had seen in all their lives. The Dragon that had been tilling the Summit of St. Erdengaur had descended to the bowels of the earth and had transformed into a more hellish version of its erstwhile figure. The very omen of Death being its face, talons and wings and lava and scales; if the darkest and most murderous night of the Earth’s centuries could bear the shape of a body, it would be that very Creature that spread his roguish self across a large part of the humbled Kingdom. And at that sight, there was absolute hopelessness for man-kind’s survival ~ Will the warriors of men survive the claws of their governments that they are victims to and finally break free to face the Dragons in mutiny? Will they find the various dark secrets of the Dragons’ legacy and Origin and win against the beasts to save their kind? Join Imogen and her friends as they journey through the wild story to unravel the mystery of the Dragons ~

One man from a realm filled with abundance brought with him sparkling stones and precious metals, which began to ornate the Queen's Palace and the homes of the A'khina. He slowly began to earn their trust, and with each visit, he found out more about the realm, and the more found he began coveting the power that made that realm so special.
