Real life dungeon
The story follows Alain Thrall, a young American with a lifelong fascination for dungeon mangas/manwhas/manhuas and novels, who, after losing his father, seeks a life of exploration. He joined an experienced engineer on an expedition into a deep mine. During their descent, they stumble upon an abyss that reveals a hidden world bathed in an eerie, artificial light. This subterranean realm is home to the Lumen, a highly advanced civilization that has evolved in isolation for millennia. The engineer, initially intrigued, becomes increasingly unsettled by the strange sights and sounds emanating from the abyss. Despite his growing unease, Alain, his imagination fueled by years of reading about fantastical underground worlds, convinces him to descend further. However, tragedy strikes when the engineer falls to his death, leaving Alain alone in this alien and mesmerizing environment.
Driven by a mixture of fear and fascination, Alain, much like the heroes of his beloved stories, ventures deeper into the Lumen's domain. He encounters breathtaking landscapes, encounters bizarre and wondrous creatures, and witnesses a society that challenges his understanding of human existence and the potential for societal evolution. The novel explores themes of human potential, the impact of technology on society, and the possibility of alternative realities, all within the context of this extraordinary subterranean encounter, blurring the lines between Alain's fantastical readings and the incredible reality unfolding before him.
