[Dual POV story] At 25, Fuyumi Haruno's love life has been nonexistent since high school, with fleeting crushes and no real connections. Now working as an editorial assistant at a publishing company, she spends her days lost in books and comics. One Sunday, while browsing the bookstore, she encounters a man—one of the cutest she’s ever seen. Their brief exchange about manga leaves her flustered, and she regrets not saying more when he walks away, unsure if she’ll ever see him again. Hirono Matsumoto, 28, hasn’t been in love since his first high school relationship and now lives a quiet life, spending his weekends with friends and his weekdays working as a software developer. During a routine trip to the bookstore, he notices a girl intently studying manga. After offering his opinion on one of the books, he worries he rambled too much and might’ve scared her off. He leaves wondering if their paths will cross again—or if it was just a fleeting moment. As Fuyumi and Hirono continue to cross paths, the spark between them is undeniable, but neither quite knows how to handle it. These pieces each represent a major arcana card which have been given shape as clones. Now awakening within a broken state, and lacking all the power which he once held, Ciel is faced with the arduous task of not only saving the dreaded future which awaits humanity, but of helping his previous mentor. All the while, he must also take it upon himself to seek out and hunt the clones of him with the goal of regaining his past power and obtaining a complete soul once more. The sight was terrifying. “You have no idea what your ancestors sacrificed to put you here. But you will learn. And I swear to you, with my pride on the line…” “Only those worthy of us will survive!” "Soon, I will show you why we are called dragons!" What these so-called dragons don’t know… is that a puppet will rise to shatter their illusions. He’s wrong. None of them will survive. ====== Author's Note: As you can see from the tags, the MC will eventually become a villain, but not at the beginning—and not even within the first three arcs. I'll take the time to carefully build his character and develop his transformation in a way that feels natural and logical. His ultimate goal is to return to his original family, so he harbors a deep hatred for the world he’s been pulled into. This novel will explore darker themes like slavery, murder, mind control, and betrayal. However, it will not contain R-18 content, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you might want to reconsider. The MC won’t be OP from the start, nor the smartest, but he will quickly gain experience and grow.
