The world has been shaped by the Elemental Spirits. Each Spirit controls a continent, and through their deep connection with nature, each continent gains its own unique characteristics. The Elemental Spirits are god-like beings, yet their ability to create life is limited. This creation can only occur through great power and balance, as each creation depletes the energy source of the Elemental Spirits in some way. Once, these Spirits ruled the world solely through their powers, but they soon began seeking balance over the lands under each other's control. Their ability to create life pushed them to take a deeper role in shaping the world. Initially, the Elemental Spirits created beings based on the four basic elements to maintain balance in the world: fire, water, earth, and air. The first beings created were those whose nature was based on these four elements. However, over time, the Elemental Spirits began seeking to guide these creations in more advanced ways. This led to the idea of creating humans. Humans were to be the strongest and most conscious beings the Elemental Spirits would create; they were meant to live in harmony with nature while also discovering their own potential.
