This book talks about the daily life of a young cat girl named Yuki Nakata, whose goal was to try and live the life of normal humans. Although not entirely different from normal human beings, she still suffers from the impacts of her cat-like traits and features that are visible on her human form. She used to live on a village far away from the city, where most of her relatives lived. Her curiosity took over her one day, and she left to board a train to the city on a nearby town. On the train, she meets a lady seemingly in her 30s. The lady struck a long one-sided conversation on the way to the city, where they exchanged info and bid farewell to each other. Yuki wandered off to a cafe which caught her attention, and so she took a break in the cafe. The waitress in the cafe grew suspicious of Yuki as she gets more polite the more she talks to her. Yuki ends up staying in the apartment above the cafe, under the waitress' care. She made 3 new human friends that day, which she was proud of. One of them was too playful and in a way, caused Yuki's cloth which she wrapped around her head to hide her cat ears to fly off as she fell on one of them...

The forest was quiet, and everything was still. As he slowly started to slip into unconsciousness, he heard a dull thud on the dirt outside the cave, too faint for a normal person to hear. But Raphael was no ordinary person. Crouching behind the roots of the tree, he waited patiently as the sniffing began. He made a silent prayer, to no one in particular as he saw the red eyes right outside his cave. They locked eyes with each other, and the enormous wolf bared his canines at him, before howling into the night. All around the forest, several other howls answered, as the earth began to tremble under the numerous paws thundering above it. 'Here we go again,' he thought to himself.
