Persona: Beneath the Regret Moon
Welcome to Minazuki, a city where the vibrant rhythm of everyday life secretly intertwines with the whispers of an unseen world. For Shoji, a new transfer student grappling with his own quiet struggles, life takes a sudden, terrifying turn when he stumbles upon the Desert of Regrets—a bizarre cognitive realm born from the collective unconscious, mirroring the city's hidden sorrows. Here, amidst shifting sands and distorted landmarks, he awakens to a hidden power: his Persona, a manifestation of his true self, allowing him to battle the monstrous Shadows that prey on humanity's deepest regrets.
Joined by the spirited Taiga, the analytical Minami, and the enigmatic fox, Hakuo, Shoji learns that he is one of the few who can navigate this perilous landscape. But their journey into the heart of cognitive reality uncovers a far more insidious threat than mere Shadows.
A mysterious organization known only as The Vigilante has emerged. Led by the unsettlingly serene Rei Hoshino, The Vigilante offers a twisted form of "salvation"—a chilling "cure" that eradicates people's Shadows, but at the cost of their very essence, leaving them as hollow, placid echoes of their former selves. They seek to cleanse the world of all regret, believing it to be the ultimate path to peace, but their methods are a brutal, soul-destroying abomination.
