It was Zeus who had spread the rumors about Phaethon’s lineage, stirring up his impulsiveness and pushing him to make a fatal mistake. To "save" the world, Zeus, pretending to be the hero, unleashed a thunderbolt, striking Phaethon down from the sky. Phaethon fell into the River Eridanus, and his life came to an end. But the story didn’t end there.
