Lud is a troubled teenager with a dark past. When his mother becomes employed as a field biologist in a rural Appalachia hollow, Lud is eager for the change. Between going to a new school, moving into a new home, and even befriending a mysterious girl, Lud feels as though he's getting a second chance at life.
But when carcasses of local fauna begin to appear in the forests surrounding the village, mutilated and devoured, Lud realizes more than just his memories are stalking him...
