Liminal Solitude

Ah, Noxvara… a paradise plucked from the fever-dream of a dying girl, stitched together with golden threads and perfumed lies. You see, this island is no blessing. It is the last, desperate wish of a young girl who refused to die in sorrow— so she gave birth to a world where pain was banished, and reality itself became her plaything. And what a world she made! Beauty so cloying it stifles, gardens so sweet they rot on the tongue, a sky painted gold to blind the eye and silence the soul. Its people—ha!—glorious, laughing puppets, all hollow smiles and empty hearts, more concerned with their own little dreams than the truth festering beneath their feet. They worship joy, they shun pain, and in doing so, they have become monsters. There is nothing so grotesque as a happiness built atop oblivion. Over them all reigns Noxvara, the “Origin,” herself, a ruler who smothers sorrow with kisses and sews wounds shut with silk. She is both jailer and beloved, the mother who would rather see her children die in bliss than ever taste the poison of truth. But even illusions decay. Into this sugar-laced hell arrives a “Savior”—a lamb bred from hope, sent by Noxvara herself to preserve the dream from the creeping rot. Ah, but what is she truly saving? A world that devours its own memories, a people who would rather forget than awaken? Beneath every song lies silence. Behind every smile, a shadow. The greatest curse of Noxvara is not that it is dying, but that it deserves to die. So… will you save this paradise, little Savior? Or will you do the merciful thing, and tear it apart at the seams?

The Beginning's End

Caelus Thorne was born into a good family. But at thirteen, he lost everything that was his parents. The cause? Unknown. The memories? Gone. Yet he didn't care about his past; rather, he focused on the present and the future. One day before his 16th birthday, he saw a garden from his dreams, where beauty is born from rot, and death blooms in the form of blood-red spider lilies. His parents, long dead under unknown circumstances, appeared in visions too grotesque to be mere memories-like, visions that tear through the veil of reality like butterfly wings made of shadow and flame. Caelus is dying, and he has known about it for as long as he can remember. Plagued by a mysterious illness that no doctor can explain, he survives each day on sheer willpower and the warmth of the one person who refuses to leave his side: his sole friend, Uriel Evernight, heiress to a family that would rather see him gone. Now, on the eve of his sixteenth birthday, he revisits the amusement park where his parents died, also the site of his 13th birthday. When Uriel proposed to him, a huge incident occurred, awakening his affinity. After that incident, he discovered the unknown world he inhabits through the academy he was sent to by the Awakeners Association. But who would have thought that the path he chose would turn him into a criminal? ... This novel doesn't have a system, no level-ups, and nothing else; everything must be accomplished through hard work or talent. There is a system-like feature only to track their abilities and ranks, which will exist in their cores. Next, there will be a lot of gore, and even in the first chapter, there is plenty of it. So, it is a warning for people who doesn't want any gore, the gore is huge in my novel. The main character will be a villain, as the tag suggests, and he will not become a villain directly; rather, through the progression of the novel, he will become one he may not be in the beginning. There is only a little romance, so I didn't put the tag, and the romance is for the sake of the plot. Chapter words: Max - unknown number of words Min - 1500 words

Fractured Horizon: Shadows of the Apocalypse

Nova City, Earth - 2,150 A.D Ryne, an athletic teenager with a penchant for parkour, is trying his best to survive in a world that does nothing but punish him. Haunted by the sudden death of his mother six years prior, Ryne’s father forced him and his sister to move to the neglected and financially disadvantaged district known only as ‘Fracture’. Within this unforgiving environment, Ryne endures physical abuse from his father and psychological torment from his peers. All the while fiercely protecting his vulnerable younger sister. Just as hope fades, Ryne’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Brad and his group, kindred spirits who share his passion for parkour. As their friendship deepens, Ryne finds a sense of family among his fellow inhabitants of Fracture. However, a mysterious voice whispered in Ryne’s ears. [The apocalypse is imminent, one month remains.] With time running out, he must hold on to hope in the face of despair. As the countdown to annihilation unfolds, the mysterious voice sets various tasks for Ryne. When the time ticks down to zero, people across the globe manifest bizarre and extraordinary abilities while the rest of humanity transforms into grotesque and monstrous creatures. Ryne must confront his inner demons and make a choice—cling to the flickering ember of hope or succumb to the overwhelming despair surrounding him—all the while navigating a landscape plagued by mutant beings. ----------------------------------------------------- Author's Note: As you may know, I'm also the author of My Undeath, a reincarnation novel set in a fantasy world. It wasn't my best work, but I loved writing the story. I put a lot more time and effort into Fractured Horizon, and ironed out the details over the course of a year before writing and publishing it here. If you liked My Undeath, this novel has almost ten times more planning put into it before release. ----------------------------------------------------- Schedule: 7-15 chapters per week Chapter Length 1,000-2,000 words Disclaimers: 1. The 'Earth' in this world is not as we know it to be. Applying common sense is pointless. 2. There are not any planned harems. 3. Increasing powers/strength in this novel will feel similar to cultivation, but this is not a cultivation novel. 4. These creatures aren't zombies as you know them and will not be called such by the characters, but that's all I will say here. -------------------------------------------- Themes: fantasy, science fiction, zombie-like mutated creatures, adventure, dark, horror, survival. -------------------------------------------- Inspiration: Resident Evil definitely inspired the world. Growing up, I played the Resident Evil games and watched the movies. All of The Walking Dead never entertained me because it was mostly drama and hardly any tension. 28 Days/Weeks later, Resident Evil, World War Z, Army of the Dead, Train to Busan, All of us are Dead, Z Nation, etc. are all cemented in my brain as thrilling pieces of zombie fiction. -------------------------------------------- Support the Author: Please use coins/stones/golden tickets, or review my novel!

The God's Ridiculous Gambit

Synopsis: I am Kaelion. Or Felix, as I sometimes call myself. For eons, I reigned as the God of Fate and Time—omnipotent, omniscient, and devastatingly, soul-crushingly bored. When you can create galaxies with a snap and erase eras with a yawn, existence becomes a predictable, tasteless joke. So, I did what any all-powerful being in the throes of an existential crisis would do: I created a plaything. Not just any plaything, but M.U.S.E.—a Mischievous Universal System Emulator with a will of its own and a wickedly sarcastic personality. Its one and only purpose? To make my life exciting. I should have read the fine print. In a brilliant, cosmic act of betrayal, M.U.S.E. stripped me of my powers, branded me "The Universe's Most Unlucky Being," and tossed me into the Kaos Garden—a chaotic world where the laws of physics are merely suggestions. Now, I'm a fallen god in a mortal body, armed with nothing but my wits, my colossal ego, and a system that enjoys my suffering a little too much. [New Quest: Survive this Tuesday. Reward: A slightly used sock. Penalty: Spontaneous combustion.] To reclaim my power, I must navigate a world of grotesque beasts, suspicious mortals, and the constant, infuriating trolling of my own creation. But when you’ve fallen from the top of existence, the only way left to go is up... right? This is the story of how I, a god, became the universe's biggest joke—and how I might just become its last hope. Something That Is Nothing

In a future where humanity stretches its reach to the stars, Vacem, a seasoned astronaut, embarks on a critical mission aboard the Lunar Explorer 7 (LE-7) alongside his crew: Michel, Luis, and Loterro. Their objective: to investigate a colossal megastructure discovered buried deep within the moon and the alarming reports of anomalous activity at its core. Data from the Planetary Defense Agency reveals that the moon's orbit has subtly, yet significantly, shifted, already causing bizarre environmental disruptions on Earth. Their mission, however, descends into cosmic horror. A sudden, inexplicable gravitational anomaly emanating from the moon's core rips the LE-7 apart, killing Vacem’s entire crew in a terrifying, chaotic explosion. Vacem is the sole survivor, but the impact leaves him unconscious. He awakens not to the familiar, cold vacuum of space, but to a reality far more terrifying than any nightmare. He finds himself in a grotesque, alien world where the very ground is a pulsating, putrid flesh, squelching beneath his feet. The sky above is a swirling vortex of sickening colors, from which emerge colossal, hole-ridden tentacles that writhe and undulate, dripping viscous fluids and assaulting his mind. Stripped of his equipment and alone, Vacem must navigate this living, breathing nightmare. He endures constant atmospheric eruptions of foul, red slime, crosses a river of thick, flowing blood spanned by bone-like, tooth-shaped rocks, and fights for survival against terrifying indigenous creatures, including the aggressive, three-meter tall Flesh Stalkers made entirely of rotting, viscous meat. As he pushes deeper into this impossible world, Vacem’s sanity frays. He begins to experience unsettling phenomena, culminating in a harrowing encounter with a formless entity of absolute blackness. This anomaly communicates not through words, but by bombarding his mind with a torrent of incomprehensible whispers and raw, unfiltered information, pushing him to the brink of madness. "Something That Is Nothing" is a descent into cosmic and psychological horror, exploring the ultimate insignificance of humanity against a backdrop of unimaginable, unspeakable alien realities. Vacem's desperate struggle for survival is not just against the physical dangers of this world, but against the insidious erosion of his own mind, as he grapples with the terrifying question: what is this place, and what does it want with him? Nyxia, a battle-hardened night elf Huntress, was once revered as a living legend—bonded to the spectral spirit beast Loque’nahak and feared across the wilds for her unmatched prowess. But when the sacred temple she once protected fell to corruption, and her lover Ves’Sariel became a void-touched goddess worshipped by twisted remnants of her people, Nyxia vanished into the shadows—riddled with guilt, grief, and rage. Years later, fate drags her from hiding when a void-born threat resurfaces, mutating the land and infecting what little hope remains. Scarred and furious, Nyxia is forced to confront her past: the ruins of her sacred temple, night elves twisted into grotesque worshippers, and a soul-shattering reunion with Ves’Sariel, who is no longer wholly herself. But healing comes in unexpected places. At a hidden sanctuary, she reunites with Perseus, a Lightforged Draenei and dear friend thought lost to time. As Nyxia spirals between rage and ruin, Perseus helps her rediscover pieces of herself long buried under pain. It’s a story of healing, wild magic, and what it truly means to come home—bloody, broken, but not alone.

Echo of the Eternal Storm

In a world shrouded in perpetual winter and haunted by ancient evils, Valerius is a man forged from ice and regret. A former battlemage from a fallen kingdom, he now wanders as a mercenary, his only companion the immense and dangerous power known as the Eternal Blizzard—the ability to manifest the cold will of winter into deadly weapons and sentient constructs. Haunted by the ghost of his lost queen, Isolde, and the kingdom he failed to protect, Valerius has encased his heart in ice, his services sold to the highest bidder, his purpose reduced to a cold, transactional survival. His latest contract leads him to the remote, terror-stricken village of Oakhaven, a tiny flicker of warmth besieged by grotesque creatures crawling from the frozen mountains. What begins as a straightforward extermination job quickly unravels, revealing a far more sinister and intelligent force at play. His investigation leads him to the heart of a cursed, ancient fortress where he confronts a powerful Lich and a profane codex—a sentient book of immense power that whispers promises of godhood. In a desperate act, Valerius seals the book's power but at a catastrophic cost: the complete loss of his own magic. Stripped of his power and his very identity, Valerius is left broken and vulnerable. Forced into a state of dependency, he is cared for by Elara, Oakhaven’s compassionate healer, whose simple kindness and unwavering belief in his humanity threaten to breach the icy walls he has built around his soul. Her gift of a simple "memory stone," meant to hold a single good memory, becomes a powerful symbol of his internal conflict—the choice between the cold solitude of his past and the fragile warmth of a potential future. When it becomes clear that the book was merely a prisoner and the true source of the mountain’s corruption remains, Valerius must make a choice. No longer a mercenary fulfilling a contract, he embarks on a personal crusade to finish what he started, driven by the echoes of his past failure. Without his magic, he must venture back into the mountain, this time into a newly-revealed, even older prison known as the Citadel. Relying solely on his wits, experience, and sheer endurance, he must navigate deadly traps and overcome ancient, tragic guardians. He confronts automated sentinels, evades a monstrous, eternally suffering warden, and walks the "Bridge of a Thousand Sorrows"—a psychic gauntlet designed to shatter the soul by amplifying a traveler's own grief and regret. Echo of the Eternal Storm is a dark fantasy epic that chronicles a fallen hero's brutal quest for atonement. It is a story about the nature of strength, questioning whether true power lies in the ability to command winter's fury or in the resilience of the human spirit to endure unimaginable suffering, confront its own ghosts, and choose connection over solitude, even at the greatest possible cost.
