Here Comes Rain Again

Firstborn again

Cain, humanity’s first murderer, carries the weight of a millennia-old sin. Cursed by God to wander the Earth eternally, he witnessed empire after empire crumble under the same vices that stained his hands: envy, greed, humanity’s inescapable violence. His punishment was not just exile, but the lucidity to watch history repeat itself—until a shadowed entity offered him an escape. A pact that tore through the veils between worlds, hurling his soul into **Ethos**, a realm even the gods have abandoned. Reborn as **Prometheus**, firstborn son of the distrustful Baron Alaric of House Mirewood, Cain faces a paradoxical fate: a youthful body, but a soul corroded by centuries of guilt. In Ethos, magic is a wild and corrupted force, wars between noble houses are waged with blood and betrayal, and ancient creatures—remnants of a forgotten past—rise from the forests to devour the unwary. Worse than any monster, however, is the Baron’s gaze, which sees something unnervingly alien in his "son": a youth with the bearing of a veteran of a thousand battles and eyes that have witnessed the world’s end. As Cain struggles to hide his true identity while wielding his ancient cunning to survive, dark secrets emerge. The entity that brought him to Ethos acts not out of benevolence—every step Prometheus takes in this new world feeds a cosmic design, where his very soul may be the key to unleashing chaos worse than his fratricide. Amid fragile alliances with ambitious sorcerers, battles against beasts that defy reason, and the ghost of Abel haunting his dreams, Cain must confront the question that has tormented him since the Garden of Eden: Can the damned find redemption in a world already born rotten? But Ethos is no refuge. It is a mirror. In its corrupt courts, he sees the greed that once consumed him; in its senseless wars, the echo of his own crime. And when the shadowed entity finally reveals its true face, Cain realizes his escape may have only been the beginning of a deeper condemnation—one where he is not just the prisoner, but the jailer himself. Now, torn between the thirst for redemption and the instinct to survive, Prometheus must decide whether Ethos will be the stage for his rebirth… or the final grave of all hope. For even in a new world, the sins whisper his name—and they have not forgotten.

He Comes At Night

He inches closer, a single finger roaming her heated skin. Breath mingling with breath. A loud bang vibrates through the room, so thunderous as if god himself was furious. Slowly he looks up staring out the large glass windows to the backyard, "You have a visitor." His rasps calmly. "Who?" Rose quickly fires, feigning ignorance. She knew well enough who it was. Her nightly visitor has arrived. Surprising, He only visits when she is alone. "One who comes out at night. Lurking in the shadows, in the darkness... just like its intensions." He looks down still leaning on top her, once more pinning her with his intense gaze. "Are you afraid?" His voice dead serious, eyes going back to look outside. And Rose lied, "No." But is it a lie when her fear was never really rooting enough to make her run the other way but instead often getting mixed with exhilaration. "You should be." He leaves her staring wide eyed on the sofa and goes to stand before the glass panes. "It's not happy to see me here. I can see the raging pits of fire in it's gaze. Ready to burn me right where I stand." he chuckled, sounding most sinister, "It definitely wants to rip my innards out." "You should take off your shirt." He suggests casually. "Excuse me?" "Let's see if it riles him up even more to shatter instead of just slamming the windows like a wuss." He rouses under his breath, his excited provocative tone not escaping Rose's attention. What the hell is he up to? "This isn't funny." Rose sputters out, standing up from the couch. "I'm not trying to be." He faces her again, sporting a deadpan face. "Whatever. You think I'm one of your stupid fan girls to take my shirt off just because you want to rile someone up? Besides, there's probably no one outside and you're only making it up to see my boobs like a pervert." His eyes roams her from top to bottom, there was distaste evident in his gaze. "When he comes at night and leaves a little something for you, maybe then you take off your clothes for him... like a slut." Rome stared into her eyes with nothing behind those icy orbs to show for a lack of meaning behind his words. Because he means every single thing he says to her. "Get. Out. Now!" Rose boomed furiously. "Whatever, I was leaving anyway. This has become boring." He walks towards her front door. "Wait. How do you know he comes at night and leaves something?" her eyes narrow. "Because I've seen it before." "You saw him? It is a real guy?" Rose wanted to confirm, for some reason she thought otherwise. "I never said I saw him. I've only seen it happening to someone else." "Whom?" "You don't need to know." He closes off. "Then at least tell me what happened to her? Can I meet this person?" "You can't." Refusing calmly he was almost out the door when Rose pleads against hope. "Please." "You can't because she disappeared." Those were the words that finally did it. Brought her racing heart and buzzing head to a sudden halt. "Never to be seen again." "When he stops visiting, that's when you should be most afraid." His words rang like a siren in the silence of her mind as he left. Now she felt true fear for the first time. == In the embrace of her ancestral town, Rose seeks refuge from the echoes of her past. Little does she know, her return to her roots will awaken dormant shadows, shattering ordinary her existence. For when the darkness falls over the town, from the pitch black rises a shadowy figure that haunt her nights. In the darkness he sweeps her off the ground in terrible fear and the allure of sinister intrigue. And once the sun comes, a man with a god awful attitude, haunts her in the broad day light. Causing her to swell with pure disdain. With each passing night, it draws closer to Rose, casting a chilling spell that both terrifies and exhilarates her. Thrust into a labyrinth of mysteries can she navigate the treacherous path laid before her, or will her nightly visitor consume her whole?

Echoes of Rain

The Echoes of Rain is a poignant tale that explores the depths of human connection and the power of healing in unexpected places. Amara, a woman haunted by the ghosts of her past, finds solace in the familiar rhythm of the city and the comforting patter of raindrops. For her, the rain is a melancholy companion, a reminder of loves lost and dreams that have withered away like flowers deprived of sunlight. On a dreary evening, as she navigates the bustling train station, her umbrella slips from her grasp, rolling down the aisle as if fate itself has intervened. It is then that she encounters Noah, a stranger whose warm presence and effortless charm immediately disarm her. With a gentle smirk and a twinkle in his deep brown eyes, he retrieves her fallen umbrella, extending it to her with a casual heroism that catches her off guard. Despite her initial hesitation, Amara finds herself drawn to Noah's quiet confidence and genuine interest in her life. As the train carries them through the city, their conversation flows like a gentle stream, touching on shared passions for literature, music, and the beauty found in life's unplanned moments. When Amara confesses her complicated relationship with the rain, Noah listens without judgment, offering a simple reassurance that perhaps the right kind of rain could change her perspective. Their paths separate as abruptly as they converged, but the encounter leaves an indelible mark on Amara's soul. As she walks home, the rain no longer feels like a burden but a cleansing force, washing away the layers of grief and regret that have weighed her down for far too long. Fate intervenes once more when Amara unexpectedly encounters Noah at a cozy coffee shop, his presence as warm and inviting as the aroma of freshly brewed beans. This time, she doesn't hesitate to accept his invitation to join him, and their connection deepens as they peel back the layers of their pasts. Noah reveals the pain of his father's abandonment and his mother's unwavering strength in the face of adversity. Amara, in turn, confides her own struggles, the rain serving as a poignant metaphor for the memories that have haunted her for years. In each other's company, they find a safe haven, a place where their burdens can be shared and their souls can breathe freely. As their friendship blossoms into something deeper, Amara begins to see the world through a new lens. The rain that once represented sorrow now symbolizes rebirth and renewal, each droplet a reminder of the resilience that has carried her through life's storms. And in Noah's embrace, she finds the courage to confront the demons of her past, finally allowing herself to let go of the pain that has held her captive for far too long. In a poetic twist of fate, the story culminates in a rainstorm that washes away the last remnants of Amara's grief, leaving her standing in the downpour, face upturned to the heavens, arms outstretched in a silent embrace of the very thing that once haunted her. It is in this moment that she realizes the true power of love and connection, and the transformative nature of healing that can occur when two souls find each other in the most unexpected of places. The Echoes of Rain is a breathtaking exploration of the human spirit, a testament to the resilience that lies within us all, and a reminder that even in our darkest moments, the possibility of hope and renewal exists, if only we have the courage to open our hearts and let the rain in.
