The man she's supposed to marry can't stand her and looks for ways to end their engagement, all to no avail. But on the day she's to get married, she finds out she's pregnant. Her fiancé finally uses the opportunity to break off his engagement to her and her father sends her packing to her aunt in another city never to return after she refuses to remove the baby like he asked her to. Seven years later, she returns to the city to claim her position as the heiress of her mother's fortune, which her father and his wife and daughter has been living off of all these years. But not as the overweight duckling everyone expected, but as a stunning, glamorous woman. Behind her are three children: a daughter who looks exactly like her, a handsome son, and another handsome son who looks too much like the most powerful man in the city. Unexpectedly, the dimwit, her fiancé who broke off their engagement comes begging for them to get married like they were supposed to. "So what if you're stunning now and lost all that weight? Everyone knows you used to be an ugly duckling. Who knows the underhanded ways you resorted to to lose weight. Forget our past and marry me again." The woman looked at him and snickered. "Aren't you the heir of the Baker family? Why would you marry a fatso like me?" The man huffed and said arrogantly. "Hmph! Do whatever you want. But I assure you that no one in Silicon Valley will want to marry a woman saddled with bastard children!" The triplets came up on his face and snorted in disdain. "Who's this? Where is daddy when a man like this harasses mommy?” “I told you he wasn’t worth her. Hurry up and call him quickly.” The man who was in the middle of a conference call ended it as soon as he heard the news and went straight to where she was. “Are you hitting on my wife? Bastards? Are you calling the beloved children of Jett Adler bastards?” “Eh-what? Jett Adler? The most powerful man in the city? How is that even possible!”

The ghost of my son

In a peaceful village, nestled in a valley surrounded by forests, lived a little girl named Claire. She had recently moved into an old house with her mother, after her parents had separated. The house, an ancient dwelling full of history, had a melancholic air, but Claire loved it for its tranquility. Deep down, she hoped that this new life would one day ease the pain of the separation. One winter evening, while playing alone in the living room, Claire noticed a pale, translucent figure standing near the window. It was a little boy, perhaps around her age, dressed in clothes from another era, gazing at her with sad eyes. He seemed lost and solemn. As Claire approached him, she felt an odd sense of calm. The figure slowly faded as she reached out to touch him. The next day, Claire searched for clues about this apparition. Through the old papers in the house, she discovered the story of a boy named Jules, who had lived there long before her. He had died in a tragic accident, taken too soon at the age of eight. His parents, overwhelmed by immense grief, had divorced after the loss of their child, unable to bear their shared sorrow. Jules's appearances became more frequent, and Claire began talking to him. She learned that, even in the afterlife, Jules could not find peace. He was troubled by the separation of his parents and could not bring himself to leave this world without trying to reconcile them. Claire understood that the little boy was seeking help, hoping that someone—an ordinary child like herself—could bring his parents back together and heal their broken hearts. Each night, Claire and Jules talked for long hours. She explained her own situation, the pain she felt from not seeing her father as often, the sadness of seeing her mother so lonely. Jules listened attentively while sharing his story and confiding his wish to reunite his parents. He told her, "If only they could love each other again, everything would be fine, Claire. I don’t want to see them separated in the afterlife." Gradually, Claire took the idea seriously. She began talking to her mother about Jules and his appearances, and soon, she had the courage to write a letter to her father, asking him to come back, even just for a moment, so that the family could be together, if only for an instant. One weekend, the miracle happened. Her father, touched by Claire’s letter, agreed to come and spend time with them. Claire felt as though Jules’s presence guided her every step. As the day went on, a strange but powerful sense of harmony filled the house. The tensions eased, and even though Claire’s parents knew they were not meant to be together, a new peace settled between them. That evening, after dinner, Claire found herself alone for a moment in the living room, watching the remnants of Jules’s shadow. He stood there, smiling faintly, his eyes filled with gratitude and happiness. He had not disappeared, but he seemed calmer, as if he had found peace. He gently faded away, before dissolving into the light of the fireplace.

The land of Varyndor, now fractured by war, corruption, and untold darkness, has forgotten the true heir to the throne—a monarch who could unite the realms and bring peace. The story follows a lone wanderer, cloaked in shadow, who carries a sword stained with the sins of their past. With no memory of their true heritage, they are driven by visions of a long-forgotten prophecy: a mysterious wanderer will return to reclaim the Shattered Crown and restore balance. As they journey through desolate ruins, cursed valleys, and blood-soaked battlefields, the wanderer faces not only the treacherous remnants of Eldros' enemies but also the ghosts of their own haunted history. As the wanderer's quest brings them closer to the hidden capital, they uncover secrets that bind them to the ancient magic of the land—and to the royal bloodline they never knew they belonged to. However, the closer they come to claiming the crown, the more they realize that the real danger lies not in the fractured lands, but in the shadow of their own past, long buried but never forgotten. In a world where the lines between friend and foe blur, the wanderer must decide whether they are fated to restore the kingdom—or if the very throne they seek is cursed beyond redemption. A tale of destiny, self-discovery, and the struggle against a dark past, The Shattered Crown is a journey through a world ravaged by time and magic, where the greatest enemy may be the truth itself.

Born of fire and hunger

In the greater part of human kind there resides an instinct for survival. It is this which can clutch at straws and affect a rescue from them. It is this which can, now and then, outwit fate : Tanith Lee There are moments in life when you don't know what to do. Some of these moments can be good, like when a father holds his first newborn baby for the first time and realises he has no idea what to do. Or when somoene who has worked his entire life without stop finally retires and doesn't know what to do with his free time cause he's never had any. An then there's me, somoene about to have possibly the first of many so called "worst day of my life" as I stare at what is most likely a death sentence. You see for contexe, the world I am in is a little strange. Before you make any assumptions, this isn't an isekai where I get whisked off to some fantasy world to fixe some other peoples problems. At least not completely. The world I am in is strange in the fact that about 75 years ago, give or take one or two, a massive portion of the population vanished without a trace. Freaky I know, but not as freaky as when they came back and brought with them "magic". The laws of physics seemed useless and easy to ignore for these people. They could do incredible things. Flying through the air at unimaginable speeds, shooting fire from their fingers, moving mountains with their power. Even freezing time was within their reach. It was safe to say at this point that the world was going to change forever. Now listening to all this you'd probably say, wait Lucien isn't this awesome? Magic powers and all you have to do is dissapear for a while, isn't that a pretty good trade of? And normally you'd be right, but of the approximately 100 million who dissapeared, only 13 million came back. Not very good odds. Those that came back told stories of what they had to do. The trials they had to pass. Now this isn't some tower climbing story like you probably read in those webnovels. Every trial was unique to the person. Some where easy and some landed you in the 83 million that didn't come back. And naturally like any good fantasy story, the great dissapearance, as we came to call it, didn't happen just once. And so my story begins here, in the middle of the road, 75 years after the first great disappearance, staring into dead space. I would guess that the people who saw me would find me weird, after all I was staring at nothing. But I couldn't be bothered with them right now, and the reason was that I was indeed staring at something. Something that would change my fate forever. [Congratulations challenger] [You have been selected for the trial] [You will be transported in 30 seconds] ... Fuck. Author : this novel does have a system but it's not a leveling system, so if that's what you're looking for, this might not be for you.

THE SECLUSION OF PENS

Title: The Seclusion of Pens For six long years, Pens had lived in isolation, hidden away in a secluded mountain retreat where time seemed to stretch endlessly. The walls of her small cabin were lined with books, maps, and remnants of a life she barely remembered. The only sounds were the rustling trees and the occasional howl of the wind through the narrow valley. She had once been someone—someone important, perhaps even powerful—but now, she was just a ghost, forced to pretend she was dead to the world. She had never been given the full truth, only fragments of explanations whispered to her before she was taken away. "For your safety," they had said. "For the greater good," they had insisted. But what was this greater good that required her to vanish from existence? Why did she have to live like a shadow, watching the world from the edge of oblivion? Pens had spent years trying to piece together the mystery of her exile. Was she a fugitive? A missing heiress? A pawn in some unseen war? Every possibility seemed more absurd than the last. She had trained in secret, sharpening her mind, her body, and her instincts, preparing for the day she could break free. But the world had not forgotten her entirely—there was still the promise. Every six months, a messenger arrived at dusk, cloaked in secrecy, delivering a single cryptic letter. Sometimes, it contained nothing more than a warning. Other times, it offered hints of the life she had left behind. But always, without fail, it ended with the same words: "You may go out once. Just once." It was a cruel allowance—one fleeting night of freedom before returning to her prison. Each time, she ventured beyond the mountains, blending into crowds, searching for answers. Each time, she returned with more questions than before. As the sun set on another six-month mark, Pens stood at the threshold of her hidden world, gripping the newest letter in her hands. This time, it was different. The words on the page were urgent, almost desperate: "You must leave. Do not return. The promise is broken." Her heart pounded. For the first time in six years, she wasn’t just being given a night of freedom. She was being told to run.

His gaze held hers, intense and unwavering. “What are you hiding?” He murmured, his breath hot against her skin as she defiantly met his eyes, “Maybe I don’t you to find out.” A sly smile curled over his lips and he leaned in, his warmth flooded her heart with mixed emotions, in contrast to the coldness of his eyes with a thinly veiled threat, “Are you sure?” "What do you want from me?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. His eyes locked onto hers, filled with a dark promise. “Everything.” ⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅ Thank you for stopping by~! Enchanting The Cruel Prince is in a beta phase that I am slowly developing by managing a few hours from my packed schedule. The updates will remain slow, but if you enjoy the story, you can add it to your library and revisit it when there are more chapters or the novel is completed.
