Deep within the Eyes of Disaster
Vaylen sees the world differently—not as it is, but as it will be. His ability, the Eyes of Tragedy, shows him only one future: the worst possible outcome if he does nothing. Famine, war, betrayal—he has witnessed horrors long before they happen. And to stop them, he has learned to make the choices others refuse to.
In a world where Flux, the very force of existence, binds all things, balance is everything. Once ruled by eight gods, the world is now fractured—one god betrayed by his own creation, and the others locked in self-serving conflict. The Calliberyx, a fallen race of god-forged beings, wage war to sever the world’s connection to Flux, believing that if they cannot wield its power, no one shall. Vaylen who foresaw the greatest end to the millennium of conflict, could not help to witness this slow cycle of suffering.
To save a city, he must let a village burn.
To protect a friend, he must become their enemy.
To prevent catastrophe, he must become a monster.
Caught between the fractured gods, the treacherous Calliberyx, and the unraveling world of Flux, Vaylen faces impossible choices. Every decision he makes forces him further from the man he once hoped to be, as morality becomes a luxury he cannot afford. Yet with every sacrifice, a question lingers: Can he truly save the world, or will he be the one to destroy it?
