The same as the number of Outer Domains which invaded Earth after the emergence of Qi, Mana, Internal Energy, and Spiritual Energy. They brought with them the eight power systems - Cultivation, Magic, Martial Arts, Mentalist, Cyborg, Beast Taming, Demonic and Buddhist. Was eight doors a coincidence?
