Force In Marvel

Forced To Be His

"I don't understand, Father." a soft voice filled with confusion filled the office room. "What do you mean by getting married?" The older man who sat before her snapped, "What do you mean by you don't understand? Does getting married have two meanings?" "Father! I'm just twenty two. It's not even been up to six months I've graduated from college and you want me to get married!? To someone I don't know?" her soft voice was rising as she stared at her father incredulously. She couldn't believe he'd do this to her! "Emery baby." It was her mother who stood up to hold her hand and she froze. She couldn't remember when last her mother had called her something so endearing. "Baby. You know your father wouldn't ask for you to do this unless it's very important." "But then marriage? It's a lifetime thing, mother. I do not want to be stuck with someone I don't know for the rest of my life. Why can't Hailey get married instead of me?" you've always chosen her over me anyway. "Because, it's you the man wants..." "No,mother!" She rose, "I'd like to have a say about my life at this point and I'm saying no." All her life, she's never gone against anything her parents wanted for her. Not because it sat well with her but because she believed they were doing it for her own good. But then, there's no way she's marrying anyone! "Then would you rather have your father lose everything?" Her mother said, making her pause. EMERY frowned, her delicate features contorting into confusion, "Lose everything? How so?" Her father got to his feet, his hands behind his back as he looked up, sorrow and fatigue on his face, "I've been trapped, Emery. Forced Development

To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person?  How does magic,  the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work  What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapters come out every Friday at about the same time.
