On the grand avenue of Emerald City, Thales rode listlessly beside the carriage that Sherryl was in.
They were heavily protected by the Star Lake Guard, knights from the Emerald Legion were at the outer ring, and the outermost were the Patrol Officers who had been called to duty. They tried to maintain the cordon with shouts, wielding batons, shields, and even weapons to keep back the citizens who tried to catch a glimpse of the dignitaries or who pointed and talked about Thales on both sides of the street.
Well, although Officer Carquell's case had caused a sensation, at least he hadn't been pelted with eggs.
Not yet, anyway.
A few seconds later, Thales took a deep breath and turned towards the carriage window:
"Why, Sherryl? Was that really necessary just now?"
