Thales struggled to conceal his shock.
The prince followed her into the banquet hall, into the swarming crowd.
"Do you have any other evidence? I can't just... just take your word for it..."
"Evidence? How amusing," the girl scoffed, "Do you think there's anyone else in this city, no, in the whole kingdom, who knows what we know? How many know about the task His Majesty gave us? Does he need to send a raven—no, that's too dangerous—does he need to send a Minister silently to your ear to tell you?"
