Thus, cities like New York and Chicago, buildings around fifty to sixty years old, or even more than hundreds of years old, were everywhere. Central Station in New York looked the same as it had a hundred years ago. Hence, many people felt that American metropolises' infrastructures were old and outdated. Downtown LA was in a similar situation, although it looked prosperous, it didn't change much every year.
