Dr. Wu was not a hypocrite. He was not like some people who just wanted to make money and pretended to care. That was something people should feel shameful about.
"Where is the patient?" he asked.
"He is inside," Mrs. Li said.
In a separate VIP ward, the disciple of the King Pharmacist saw the patient, who was lying on the bed. The patient was pale. His cheeks were depressed, and he was thin. His body was slightly moving, which seemed the only proof he was still alive.
"What are the symptoms?" Dr. Wu asked.
"A headache and pain in his chest and abdomen," Mrs. Li said. "Painkillers do not work."
"How is it suppressed?" Dr. Wu asked.
"We have used large doses of morphine," Mrs. Li said.
Dr. Wu slightly frowned. The effect of that analgesia was good, but its main side effect, addiction, was very destructive on the human body.
"I can't watch him suffering from the pain," Mrs. Li said.
