The rules of the contest weren't much different from the knockout round as teams still had to fight each other to see who emerged victorious. The difference was that it wasn't limited to the same main city. The region was now extended to two neighbouring main cities.
Every big server would be further divided into 10 mini-competition regions. In the 7th District that Twilight City was in, Twilight City was number 4 so their neighbouring city was number 3, Thorn City. This competition region was competition region number 2 of the 7th District.
