The light in the oil lamp flickered as the wind gusted. In the dim underground room of Lombardy, it remained a mystery as to where the wind came from. The wind sighed around the well, producing trembling echoes as the air particles bumped against the four walls.
Using the light reflected from the oil lamp, Oscar and Paul examined the architectural plan of the castle. The map had been drawn by Paul from memory. Although Paul's style adapted the unique stream of consciousness technique, Oscar understood that the things he drew were not much different from the actual situation.
