The sword, named Gentle Blade, was an A-class weapon that he had fortuitously obtained during the first instance dungeon he experienced right after becoming an Awakener. Although it did not possess any special damage properties, it came with a unique Skill that allowed it to naturally morph in shape according to the wielder's will.
At its default state, the Gentle Blade was nothing more than an ordinary metal hilt, but with a simple infusion of thought, it could change shape at will. Whether it was a sword, a great axe, a rifle, or even... a shield!
