Chapter 584 [What the Hell?]
Before nightfall, Tom Hawkins indeed returned.
He wasn't empty-handed; he carried a prey slung over his shoulder.
Chen Xiaolian's eyes lit up at the sight and he rose to meet him, but in the blizzard, he noticed that the man's gaze was somewhat gloomy!
"What's wrong?"
"Let's talk inside," Tom Hawkins muttered through clenched teeth.
The prey was a Snow Antelope, weighing dozens of pounds. It had already frozen as solid as iron.
Upon recognizing the creature, Chen Xiaolian's expression grew complex.
"You also think something's not right, don't you?" Tom Hawkins shook his head, tossed the Snow Antelope beside the fire, and then drew a knife.
The sharp blade quickly dismembered the antelope. He was skilled, effortlessly skinning the frozen meat, and tossed a leg into the pot hanging over the fire. Then he got up to collect a large pot of snow from outside the cave, melted it by the fire, and began to slowly boil it.
