Chapter 557: "Who said we're running away?"
"The target hasn't moved; still in the room."
On the street outside Tom Hawkins' house, at the nine o'clock direction on the street corner, three figures rapidly ran to a car parked on the roadside.
Crouching behind the car, the street lamp's dim light revealed two men and one woman, all wearing protective suits in the standard replica war config. One of the blonde men even had a military thermal imager, which displayed images of heat signatures inside the Hawkins home, showing someone's thermal presence.
"The target hasn't moved! That's a bit strange," the man with the thermal imager said seriously in a low voice. "We've entered War Form. The target should be able to see us on their Personal System radar by now; why aren't they responding?"
The woman beside him spoke up quickly. "My personal radar doesn't see them either, which means the target might not have entered War Form, or...the target isn't at home."
