No one even considered that the eight mysterious attackers could be the eight sage beasts. It didn't make sense, after all. If they had been the ambushers, what need would have there been for all eight of them to attack? Just three would've been enough to make Frontline God retreat.
But how could they know that the strength of the sage beasts wasn't the same as before. Although their realm hadn't fallen, their strength was only a shadow of what they could call upon before. Because of this, Frontline God had misjudged them and thought that the enemy was still saving its strength.
"Who exactly was this killer? Which hidden faction do they belong to? But I think we should shelve this question for the time being. I'm more concerned about whether their appearance has some relation to the malicious energy which had showed up not long."
