Sophocles was a Demon Main God who was always quite active. He often had an incarnation and believers in the mortal plane. Only now did people discover to their surprise that his being so active was also a way to disguise himself.
"If my inference is correct, no, my inference can't possibly be wrong with my understanding of the Gods. Sophocles… was a God with no self-will. Our miscalculation about what he really was resulted in this incident."
