Tuojiao Island is located off the Jiaodong Coast, with an extensive shoreline and vast area. The island has hills and lush vegetation; it once governed eight villages, all now abandoned.
Each village had a fishing port, commonly referred to as a mouth, with gentle sandy beaches and clear shallow waters which also served as landing sites for these people.
